DIY: 3 Strap Bra for Backless Tops

By Minq Team
Branislav Nenin
Summer 2015 is all about showing off your back. Cue sexy low back tops. But, while shopping for these hot trendy pieces, you have probably asked yourself, “how do I wear a bra with this?” Sticky backless bras are great but unless you are a 10A they don’t provide a lot of support. You could go braless but…that sometimes leads to awkward situations. So what do you do with all those low back tops and dresses that are ruling the summer fashion trend? A strappy bra! You might have seen them all over Instagram already. Now you can finally wear your backless pieces with pride thanks to this handy tutorial.

What you’ll need:

a strapless bra in your size
the straps that are included with the bra and 1 extra strap (or a piece of elastic)
scissors
needle and thread (or sewing machine)

First cut off the back of the bra, starting 1/2 inch after the side boning.  Using the back piece you just cut as a template, measure and cut the straps to length plus 1/2 inch. Lay the bra face down and pin the straps onto one side of the boning. Stitch the straps straight down on one side.  Pin the straps on the other side and try it on. You want it to be snug but you also need to be able to get it off and on. Once you are happy with the placement of the straps, stitch down the other side. Cut off any excess fabric and rock your backless tops with pride!
