What happens when a guy's name gets slandered on social media by his cheating ex-girlfriend? Karma and sweet revenge.
Dealing With A Cheater
When you’re in a relationship with someone, the last thing you want to happen is for them to break all trust, by cheating on you. How exactly does one deal with that?
Well, one guy has shared his story about the time he got cheated on and how he handled it all. The guy’s story comes from Reddit user ExgfisaPOS, who lives in India and tells the tale of how he turned his negative situation around. Turns out, the situation didn’t work out so well for the cheater…
Manipulation And Secret E-mails
The man who told this story was in a happy relationship with a woman for four years. He was a professor at a school in India, while she was a librarian at the same institution. He said that she seemed to like the attention to be on her and he made sure to do that.
However, they differed in the fact that he did make a significant amount more than her.
“I earned significantly more than her, apart from the fact that my grandparents left me a hefty amount of money.”
So while she liked his attention, she also enjoyed taking advantage of him by using his belongings and making him pay for things she could not afford. And unfortunately, he was so blindsided at the time to all of her red flags, that he became an easy target as the doormat in the relationship
“I have a crappy 32-inch LCD TV, while she bought a 60-inch Bravia and defaulted on payments after which I had to pay for it. This was not an isolated incident either because she had a lot of things I was paying for. I admit that I was a doormat, in blissful ignorance of all the red flags.”
While it would make sense for the two to just move in together, he said that in their country, that is very frowned upon. However, most of his belongings ended up at her house because she was extremely manipulative and materialistic. She would just take and take and take, and he gave as much as he could to her because he wanted to make her happy.
“Although she lived in her own apartment (we live in a very conservative country, live in relationships are a big taboo), most of the stuff in it was mine. She drove my car, used my laptop, and so on.”
One day, when he was at his girlfriend’s place, he decided to use her laptop to check his e-mail. But when he went to log in, a notification popped up as her e-mail account was automatically signed in.
This is when the drama starts.
The notification read: “‘God knows I love your body. 7, same park. Night at my place. Wear the dress (my name) bought for you so I can tear it apart’.” He couldn’t find any other previous messages but realized that ‘the other guy’ who was messaging HIS girlfriend was one of his first-year students! In the Reddit post, he refers to this guy (his student) as ‘Wuss’.
“I can’t describe how I felt at the moment. It was a wild cocktail of emotions. I slammed her laptop and stormed out of her place. But I was foolish enough to not take any evidence, but they were supposed to meet up the next day and I could catch them red-handed.”
Caught In The Act
He decided to go to the spot where it said they would be, only to find them making out in HIS car! Angered by what he saw, he knocked on the window and asked for his car keys back and for his ‘girlfriend’ to never speak to him again. Well, the girl was taken by surprise.
“She was sobbing, apologizing and so on. I asked Wuss to drop her home, and he just… bolted like his tail was on fire. I can never forget the look on their faces – that sudden paleness and shocked expressions. Wuss also forgot his phone in my car.“
She couldn’t fathom the fact that her ‘boyfriend’ actually witnessed her cheating on him, so she started sending him dozens of text messages apologizing. He ended up blocking her.
The only way he knew how to deal with the pain was to drink, eat, and sleep. But he eventually came to his senses about the whole ordeal and decided to check his bank statements, before canceling his joint checking account with the cheater girl.
“She withdrew almost all of the money in it, out of which 3/4th was mine.”
While still being consistently texted and called by cheater girl, he ended up actually breaking his phone, while in an intoxicated state. So he had to go use a backup phone and was immediately notified of what cheater girl was saying about him on Facebook. She was accusing him of doing exactly what she was doing- sleeping with a student.
Spreading Lies On Social Media
“As it turns out, she posted on Facebook that I had been cheating on her, that I was an emotionally manipulative, two-faced jerk who sleeps with his students. We had a lot of mutual friends, most of who blocked me. Someone even created a WhatsApp group and they abused me and said horrible things. She even turned my sister against me. Our father left our mother for a woman half his age, our mother got depressed and died after a few years, thus she was overly sensitive about infidelity. But my ex was also horribly manipulative, and she pushed all the right buttons to make my sister hate me.
She hit all of the past wounds (she knew about our father). She said things like ‘chip off the old block’ and ‘he’s just like your father’ and many more horrible, made up things. She got very depressed because of this, and also several of her friends were on my exes side. This has probably put a permanent strain on our relationship.
The word about ex’s facebook post spread like wildfire in the college. They pinned a shy, socially awkward girl as being my mistress and shamed that poor girl. To be honest, I have never even noticed her.”
Plot Twist
So the ‘cheater girl’ completely ruined this guy’s reputation because of her false accusations against him. This greatly affected him, as he had had a good reputation among his friends and fellow peers at work. It even put his job at risk after coworkers heard all about his ‘scandal’. And to top it off, this manipulative woman turned his own sister against him. Luckily, he was able to correctly inform his sister about what had happened and showed evidence with the previous apology text messages she had sent to him.
After contacting a lawyer, he ran into ‘Wuss’ and Wuss’s father at school. And it took all of him to resist violence towards ‘Wuss’ for all he did to him. And as for the girl that was the ‘alleged mistress,’ she has to go on at school being teased by a small group of students. But when the guy confronted the counselor at school about it, the counselor said that they would not give it any more attention, as it is simply a false rumor being spread.
But in a turn of events, Wuss actually helped him out.
“He apologized and told me that he’d do anything so as to not get him out of college. I asked him if he’d testify in my favor, and he obliged.”
‘Wuss’ even provided evidence, through screenshotted text messages, that the girl did indeed cheat. He did let ‘Wuss’ know that there was not much that he could do for him, in terms of ‘saving him’ in court. But he didn’t seem to mind. ‘Wuss’ wanted to make it clear that the girl was the one who was cheating, not his professor.
Sweet, Sweet Revenge
So they took matters to a lawyer and moved the issue to court.
Once in court, the charges he pressed for were “Under IPC (Indian penal code) section 499 (defamation), 500 and 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).”
“The day of the hearing was frankly the best day of my life since the breakup. She said a lot of malignant things about me, was yelling a lot to the point that the judge had to scold her. Her lawyer did ask for an out of court settlement, but I politely declined because it is not only my life she has inevitably screwed over. It would’ve been cheaper and I’d have gotten some dough, but screw her.”
Luckily he had a tenure of five years with the institution, so he couldn’t have gotten fired. But because of all of the drama that happened, he was transferred to another college. But he made sure to notify the authorities as to what the girl had done to him.
Once authorities got word of what happened, cheater girl was fired from her librarian job for “philandering with a student.” Getting fired for such reason will make it extremely difficult for her to obtain a job, again.
On top of that, she also faced time in jail (up to 2 years) with the possibility of bail.
‘Wuss’ was expelled from the college.
And that money that she stole from the joint bank account, yeah, that went straight to her lawyers! The guy did end up getting all of his belongings from her place, as a friend saved the day by taking back his futon, fridge, laptop, air conditioner, jewelry, and multiple electronics.
What does the girl have?
Well, unfortunately, the nice TV was in her name, so she gets that. But, she might have to sell it seeing as she has no job and has zero savings in her bank account. And she will also have to report back to her parents about the situation she got herself into. Not sure they will be too happy about the story, but who knows if she’ll be truthful about any of it.
Reactions
Luckily the guy did manage to save his name from the horribly manipulative woman. Not only did this woman try to ruin his life, but she also affected others that she was obviously unaware of at the time. But in the end, justice prevailed and she will have to start anew. Hopefully she’s learned a lesson in all of this… Maybe the jail time will give her time to reflect on her poor decisions and instead, change for the better.
There were a good amount of other Redditors, who commented on how they felt about the situation.
One user related with the guy on how it must feel, as a teacher, to have to deal with something this dramatic.
“Wow, great job! As a teacher, I know how precious our reputations are, and the fact that she accused you of exactly what SHE did is ironic and horrible. Glad everything worked out!”
Someone else commiserated with him on people who spread rumors on social media.
“I hate people who are like that: They cheat (or at least act like they are cheating) on you-so, message other (flirty, lovey etc, sort of messages) people and not allow you to even know, lie about you, get people to hate you, slander you on social media or in public etc. It sounds like she got what was coming to her-good on you for having a court thing go very well.I had my ex slander me in front of friends by telling them I was lying about a death threat (that he admitted he knew about) and kept calling me out to be a liar, so I told him to shut up and stop-then went home and got an intervention order against me which was biased as the date got changed without me being notified: so yeah, I can definitely sympathize with what you went through to some extent. What I never understand is how people think that they can slander people and get away with it – no matter how they do so, there would be witnesses, screenshots of messages or even videos depending on if they were doing such in public areas…they just get caught out for lies so why is it worth it?”
Others were just happy that he can continue his life, working in his field.
“If she hadn’t tried to lie her way out of trouble you probably would have just moved on. Instead, she tried to ruin you and you stood up for yourself and took your life back. It could not have been easy.”
“It’s one thing to jeopardize your job and your livelihood. But it takes a real dyed-in-the-wool brat to try to ruin relations with your family. I’m so glad you were able to recover from this (mostly) unscathed.”
“I have to say, I’m proud of your student. Let’s be honest, if your ex is as pretty as you say, what 18-year-old wouldn’t want the illicit excitement of sleeping with her? To not only not back her lies up, but to offer up evidence for you, knowing his college life will still be screwed; just because he knows he did you wrong. That takes a lot of balls for what is basically still a kid. Glad everything eventually worked out less horribly than it could have.”
Strict Consequences?
Okay, so this seems like a serious issue if the repercussions for her actions involve possible jail time, in their country.
Do you think that she got what she deserved in this case? Or was this blown out of proportion just a tad?
