While we can all get a little upset from time to time, that doesn't mean throwing an all out fit like a child. Apparently, these adults didn't get that memo...
Broken Dreams And Broken Laptops
“I bought my mom a laptop so she could videochat with family in our native country. A few months later I visit home and find out my sister has taken the laptop for herself and proceeded to run the battery down to nothing. I try to take it back and instead of hanging her head in shame, she held it above her head (I’m taller than her) to try to keep it from me. When that didn’t work, she threw it to the ground (hardwood floors) with all her might and then stomped on it. She’s 32” Source
Can I Help You?
“At work a customer barged into the breakroom and demanded I go on cash because the line was too long and she didn’t want to wait” Source
The Definition Of A Temper Tantrum
“Not recent but one of the most outrageously childish things I’ve ever seen in an adult. My old boss needed to ship massive amounts of books to CA from NY but couldn’t get it together fast enough. He asked the UPS driver to make us his last pick-up, and he obliged, but it was too early. My boss actually started jumping up and down yelling that he “never gets his way.” I was so stunned by his ridiculous behavior I just started laughing at him. He was not pleased” Source
Liar Liar
“Aunt and Uncle lied to their “friends” that they were paying for my parents house because we were “too poor to afford our own.”

Talk To The Hand
“At the local water park waiting in line with the family for the big water slide. About 5 minutes into waiting two children say 10-13 years old try to cut in line past my family. My mother stops the kids and ask them what they are doing. They proceed to come up with some BS story that my mother doesn’t buy. So the kids just stop and end up behind us apparently everyone else is okay with them cutting. We were about 5 more minutes away from the ride and up comes this lady wiggling her way through the line to these two young kids that had clearly cut their way in line 5 minutes earlier. The kids start waving to her and the lady starts off saying, “excuse me, those are my kids,” etc… She gets all the way up to her kids and starts this BS dialog about how they got away from her, yadda yadda yadda. Then she stops talking to her kids and just stands up and acts like nothing happened. She totally just cut in line and no one gave a single f—, except my mother. (LOVE HER) After my mother realizes what just happened she turns to the lady and say, “what are you doing?” The lady proceeds to explain and my mother cuts her off early and says, “get out of line you just cut in front of all these people and you used your kids as part of the con. get out…” The lady simply sticks her palm up and says, “talk to the hand cause Jimmy ain’t listening.” My mother was pissed now and calls over an employee and explains the situation. Everyone around us is now listening to the lady yelling and screaming. Finally a manager comes over and escorts the lady out of line and apparently out of the park. As she’s leaving the other people in the line actually applauded my mother. Best memory of my life about my mother” Source
Let Me Off!
“I was flying back home from a vacation. When we landed, we got delayed for whatever reason, and had to wait an extra hour to get off. The guy sitting behind me (fat guy who was in his mid-thirties) b—- loudly the entire time about how this was bulls—, how he was going to write a letter to the airline about it, etc.
When the pilot made an announcement to apologize and explain that we were delayed for a bit longer, the guy screamed “are you f—– KIDDING me?”, followed by “LET US OFF! LET US OFF!” and punctuating this by kicking the back of my seat.
Come on, dude, act like the rest of us and sit there in dead-eyed, miserable silence” Source
But I’M Better!
“One of my co-workers is extremely self-centered. It’s impossible to have a conversation with her that doesn’t end up about her. About her dozens of allergies or medical conditions, all the food she can’t eat, all the people she doesn’t like, etc… If you ever talk to her about any kind of story from your life, she’s got a story exactly like it but better. It’s like she’s constantly trying to grab the attention away from you” Source
Really…
“On sunday, my boyfriend and I were watching football games on the tv in my living room shared with three other roommates. One of my roommates had three of our mutual friends over to hang out. Roommate 1 came out into the living room and said that we should “pack up our s— and get the f— out”, and after receiving blank stares from us, proceeded to apologize and then ask nicely.
I agreed to let them use my xbox and the living room to watch their movie. I also said that the deal was that they needed to give the tv and living room back at 8:30 for the night game as my boyfriend, roommate 2, and i wanted to watch it and there wasn’t enough room to watch it on my small tv in my bedroom. my boyfriend and I “pack up our s—” and proceed to watch the game on my very small tv, awkwardly placing ourselves on my bed (the only seating available) so we can both watch. fine, whatever.
At 8:30, I could hear through the wall that their movie wasn’t quite over yet. boyfriend, roommate 2, and i make the decision to wait until their movie is over to request the tv back. around 8:50, roommate 1 and the three mutual friends blatantly disregarded our “deal” and started a new movie. annoyed, I went out into the living room and reminded them of our agreement. I went back in my room, at this point much more irritated. I heard the front door slam. we went to the living room to investigate to find that they had vacated the living room but changed the tv captions to spanish and taken the remote. as if this wasn’t immature enough, the four of them have refused to speak to me since the “incident” as if I did something extremely rude to them” Source
Shhh It’s A Library!
“I was in a local library yesterday and was using their PC to look up books, and this rather large woman sat down in the PC opposite me. she had a walking stick and made it very very evident that she had some sort of issue in sitting down. Then when she was at the PC she made a lot of very loud tuts and sighs because she couldn’t work it. “she then started shouting at the staff “EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME EXCESE ME EXCUSE ME” until someone came over. When they arrived she decided to put on an attitude until a manager came over and had a bit of a go at her for being generally loud and annoying. This was responded to by the woman realising she was being told off and denying that she had done any of the things everyone just watched her do.
The more childish part was that she had a really old woman with her, who every time she opened her mouth, the larger lady would either shout “SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” at her, or shout “will you be quiet please! we’re in a library!”. the old woman looked broken.
The whole thing reminded me of that kid at school who never had many friends, and they seemed to bully the ones they did. I really wanted to slap her and take the old woman for some tea” Source
The Silent Treatment
“Last night my mother gave my younger brother (he is seventeen) the silent treatment. She refused to tell him why she was mad and proceeded to stomp around and slam doors in his face as he patiently asked her what was wrong. I couldn’t even tell, and that’s typically easy for me to pick up” Source
Someone’s Bitter
“While walking through a Target recently I saw a grown woman yell and scream at a stock boy (no older than 17) because from what I could hear he didn’t think they had any more of a clearance item in the back. She then pushed over the entire rack and said there now you can earn you paycheck and left.
I saw her getting handcuffed in the parking lot as we were leaving, as we walked by to our car I laughed loud enough for her to hear and said serves her right” Source
A Little Growing Up To Do
“My mom every time I try to talk to her about anything. She gets super defensive and within moments she will be screaming and whining “You ALWAYS pick on me!!! Stop picking on me!!! It’s not FAIR!” She’s forty years old, but she throws temper tantrums like an eight year old” Source
A Birthday Queen
“My roommate recently threw a temper tantrum because I wasn’t able to stick around on her birthday. I hadn’t initially thought I’d be able to make it because of a prior commitment, but it turned out that I could make it for a quick shot at the bar before heading out. She had said that she didn’t have any other plans that that she’d be there at 8. I get there, and no Birthday Girl. Turns out she went out for dinner, and would be an hour late, but I had to get going long before that. I stick around as long as possible hoping to see her, but no such luck. I let her know that I have to go and apologize profusely. Next thing I know she’s telling me that I ruined her birthday, that I should’ve put all my other plans on hold to accommodate her and in the end sent me a text saying ‘f— off and f— you’ in the most venomous way I’d ever heard, and didn’t speak to me for a week. She even said that the time that I had waited around wasn’t good enough because I hadn’t waited around long enough to actually see her even though she was over an HOUR late, and knew that I had plans. She later told me that she sees no problem in keeping people waiting, and didn’t get why I didn’t just put everything off for her. She was turning 22, and was acting like a spoiled 10 year old” Source
Playing The Victim
“My MIL pouts and alternates between the silent treatment or loudly proclaiming herself the victim when she’s upset. If you put a box of cereal in the cabinet and it fell out when she opened said cabinet, she’ll scowl at you and then yell “NO don’t get up! I’ll clean up this cereal! No one help me!”
My husband says he use to try and help her when he was younger, but she’s so set in her role of victim-of-the-world that it does no good so now we all actively ignore her” Source
Broken Threats
“This guy I used to date would threaten to tell his mom about all the things I’ve done in the past(smoked weed, shoplifted, etc) in order to get her to hate me. He did this every time we would get into a fight” Source
Someone Needs A Happy Meal
“My sister and I were both home from college one summer. Well, one day she decided that she wanted McDonald’s for dinner. My mom was already making something, and didn’t want to go and get McDonald’s. So my sister collapsed to the ground and started to cry hysterically, sobbing, and screaming.
My mom and I just sat on the couch laughing our a—- off” Source
A Spoiled Brat
“My then-24-year old sister throwing a wobbly and running away because my kids had more Christmas presents than her under the tree.
She was actually just hiding behind the trailer in the driveway, and when my dad, brother and partner found her she acted all casual, as if it’s perfectly normal to be lying prone on the driveway in the dark. She claims she ‘wasn’t upset, just getting some fresh air’.
PS – I hadn’t gone to look for her as I was so mad I would have punched her in the ovaries if I found her” Source
Someone Needs A Time Out
“My SO’s brother (at the age of 30), was told he couldn’t use SO’s laptop. It was sitting on a table charging, so he took a run up to it and kicked it into next week, without even batting an eyelid” Source
You’re Not My Mom!
“Just today, I was in a queue waiting to get a prescription filled. In front of my there were two little old ladies who appeared to be made of dust and boiled sweets, a carer with a teenager in a wheelchair and pregnant me.
The man behind me grew impatient and stormed to the front with his cream for poopy places. The little old ladies gave him a good talking to.
He threw a wobbly, complete with quivering lip and stomping foot. He slammed down his Anusol and told them, “You can’t tell me what to do! You’re not my mother!” before storming out.
Only the man was about 60 and a known academic” Source
Take That Mam!
“I was at a bar with my friend I hadn’t seen in a little over a year when these girls walk up to our table, put their drinks on it, and head off to the dance floor.
My friend (an introverted nerd stereotype) takes their drinks and pounds all of them back. 4 shots. He then takes the glasses up to the bar and comes back.
After about half an hour the girls come back asking where their drinks are and my friend calmly told them “When you left the drinks on the table I thought you all had bought me drinks so I drank them.”
The “lead” woman, the vocal one started yelling saying he needed to buy them new drinks and how dare he assume that they’d buy him a drink. He said “What else was I supposed to think, you walked up to our table, placed a bunch of drinks here and left.”
After a while of neither of them budging, she ended up saying “You know what, you’re lucky I’m even talking to someone like you so how about you pony up.”
The proudest moment of my life. He told her “And how about you suck my d— and I’ll think about it.”
Meanwhile the bar had gotten quiet around us except for the Dj playing music and when he said it a bunch of tables around us erupted in cheers” Source
What A Boss
“My boss will get angry randomly at coworkers and have a yelling party with them, and if he is proved wrong or the other person doesn’t back down, he grabs his keys, leaves and slams the door hard enough to make the building shake, then he drives off with tires squealing, laying down rubber all the way down the driveway and into the road” Source
