21 Hair Accessories Every 90s Girl Wants To Make A Comeback (And A Few We Don’t)

By Minq Team

The 90s were a decade of butterfly clips, crimped hair and the biggest scrunchies. Some of these hairstyles have made their way back into the fashion industry. Others we wish would make a comeback and some, well, should just stay in the 90s. Which hairstyle do you miss most?

Marble Hair Ties

These brutal hair ties could cause a dent in your head at the snap of the band, but as they say, beauty is pain right?

Leather Hair Band

‘Cause hair bands were way cooler than the skinny black ties we have now.

Spiral Hair Ties

They could even be worn as stylish bracelets.

Hairagami

The Hairagami was a popular 90s contraption that could twist your hair into many unique hairstyles (that was, if you could figure out how to do it).

Comb Headband

Headbands weren’t just made out of cloth in the 90s. This comb headband kept your hair slicked back without risk of moving.

Braiding Machine

Somehow braiding your hair in the 90s was just too hard, so everyone needed this braiding machine to help. But, 9 times out of 10 it just turned your hair into a tangled mess.

Scrunchies

If the 90s had a signature accessory it would be the scrunchy.

Claw Clips

This was the ultimate clip that somehow managed to hold everything together.

Banana Clips

Apparently ponytails were hard to do too.

Butterfly Clips

You were only cool if you wore butterfly clips (and a lot of them, too).

Fancy Butterfly Clips

The bigger and more sparkle, the better.

Headband Handkerchief

This was the ultimate chic headband.

Bandana

If you didn’t have a headband handkerchief, you could totally get away with using a bandana instead.

Topsy Tail Hair Ponytail

Another handy dandy tool to help you create a perfect ponytail. Too bad no one could figure it out.

Hair Wraps

Hair wraps were no longer a luxury you got on vacation because there was a book that gave you step-by-step instructions to do it yourself.

Hair Wraps Machine

You could even use this fancy machine to create the perfect hair wrap.

Hair Crimping

Crimping your hair was a definite must in the 90s.

Barrettes

Barrettes kept those pesky hairs in their place better than any bobby pin could. Oh how we miss them!

Thick Stretchy Headbands

These are still around and everyone still loves them just as much as they did in the 90s.

Braidini

The 90s were all about contraptions that created the perfect hair do, but were impossible to figure out.

Chopsticks

They weren’t just for eating.

High Side Ponytails

Accompanied by a scrunchy of course.
