10 Denim Items You Need in Your Fall Wardrobe

Summer is nearly over, and fall is about nearly on the horizon. This is already made evident by the previews and salutations of fall fashion trends in magazines, whether they are for hair, shoes, and clothing items. This article has a special focus on denim items, and not just jeans themselves.

Shirt Dresses

Shirt dresses are extremely good, not just for fall but for all the other three seasons of the entire year. They offer a loose fit (obviously without being too loose) and offer a very flattering figure to anyone who wears them, since they tie right at the waist. Shirt dresses are also very flexible for any style of dress.

Vests

Denim vests are basically a sleeveless version of a jean jacket, and these are especially good with loose, flowy tops and skinnies. If one wants to evoke the jean jacket look without the actual jean jacket, then the vest is completely an acceptable option. Scarves also are good with this trend.

Miniskirts

Jean minis are actually a casual swing at a preppy clothing item, and they aren’t just for the college bar or beach either. One can now get jean minis in a variety of colors, even red, which is very much perfect for the collegiate (and fall) look. These items are very good with boots especially, but one can wear them with flats, loafers, heels, etc. One could even wear them with tights if they wanted to.

Skinnies

It does not matter whether or not they are distressed, dark, classic wash, or even colored, skinnies are one of those denim items that will always be in. The reason is, they are very versatile, and can be paired with loafers, flats, boots and even sandals, if you live someplace where summer reigns full-time (even in fall). The most common skinny trends I’ve seen lately for fall are dark and classic wash as well as white. Dark or even a black color is especially good for a night out, while white as well as classic wash are more daytime appropriate. One should have skinnies in each of these colors.

Flared Jeans

Flared jeans are making a definite comeback, and they are even hailed as being a stylish cut of denim. They are not skinnies, but then again that is perfectly all right because they are just as cool as the former. Flared jeans are very good for fall because they are can be paired with blazers, oxford shirts, and any kind of shoes basically. Aside from that flared jeans are a good choice because they keep one’s legs warm. Honestly, the best wash for fall would be a dark one, but white is also striking as well as classic wash or even distressed.

Jean Jackets

The trend of jean jackets is slowly growing, but not quite there yet because the old fashioned school blazer is still in vogue (and also always will be). But that does not necessarily mean they are not a must have item in one’s fall wardrobe. If anything, they are the complete opposite, and can be worn with any kind of shirt or blouse. Scarves are also perfect with jean jackets!

Patchwork

This trend from the seventies is making its comeback, and that is a good thing because patchwork tends to always add a touch of color to ordinary jeans or denim. In fact there seems to be a laid-back, rather earthy look from this fall trend as it is not as full of static as other embellishments of jeans and denim. Patchwork is predicted to be major this fall, so do not be afraid to sport a bit of it in the least.

Cut Offs

Cut offs are the ultimate jean for summer-lovers, and you don’t need to say goodbye to them just yet. These are well for the weekend, even a casual afternoon during the week, and even evoke a bit of the previous season. Laid-backness is the whole tone of cut offs.

Overalls

I personally feel that overalls are misunderstood. But they can lighten up any fall wardrobe, and the majority of them are designed with flared legs, which is obviously a touch above a child’s overalls. Overalls can be worn over sweaters, shirts, polos, anything basically.

Button down shirts

Jean button down shirts are now a fall trend, and they help to enhance the “all denim” look which is also in place for fall this year. They can be worn tucked in with a belt or out, which makes them quite easy to work with. The majority of jean button down shirts tend to come in a light wash.
