In our modern digital age of advertising, brands are always looking for that next big idea to turn heads and shine attention on their products. KFC is no stranger to this, but their latest collaboration (first reported by Cosmopolitan) is beyond unexpected.

4 words: Kentucky Fried Chicken Crocs.

That's right, the fried chicken restaurant chain is partnering with the polarizing rubber shoe company to make some genuinely absurd fashionable footwear. Whether you want to call it fashion or a faux-pas, everyone can agree that fried chicken printed onto a shoe is definitely out there.

The shoe itself is meant to resemble a bucket of fried chicken. Fried chicken patterns are printed on the top of the shoes, with the red and white alternating colors along the bottom referring to the iconic KFC bucket. Those aren't real chicken wings attached to the shoes, those are Jibbitz, the collectible charm attachments for Crocs shoes. Each pair of shoes will arrive with two fried chicken Jibbitz. But hey, you get walk around as if there are chicken wings attached to your shoes!

That isn't the only part of this unique collaboration. Both brands also introduced a platform version of their shoes. Words alone cannot capture what a sight these shoes truly are.

Not only can you tower over your friends and coworkers with your platform Crocs, you even get the famous Colonel Sanders peeking at the inferior shoes around him. If you want into a room, you will most definitely be the center of attention with these shoes. Just be careful not to trip.

In order to cement this truly bizarre pairing, KFC dropped a promotional video for both pairs of shoes. I think the words 'surreal masterpiece' are the best way to describe it. It combines the mystique of an editorial fashion campaign, with the oddly-placed sizzle of fried chicken. You can check it out down below:

If these are the perfect shoes for you, or you've been longing to add fake meat into your daily outfits, you won't have to wait for much longer. The brands mentioned how the shoes will be available this spring, in unisex sizes. In an official press release, Crocs SVP and CMO Terence Reilly said, "As Crocs continue to create new, unexpected brand collaborations, we're thrilled with this 'bucket list' partnership with Kentucky Fried Chicken that will bring fans an unbelievably fun and fashionable take on our classic clog."

No matter what your reaction may be, you can expect to see this forward-thinking footwear out and about quite soon. Could this be the beginning of fast food brands absurdly capitalizing on fashion trends? Is that something that we really need in 2020? Whatever may happen in the future, at least we have our fried chicken clogs to keep us comfortable.
