Gigi Hadid is known to be a very strong and independent woman. This 24-year old model is anything but shy and stands up for what she believes in.
We recently saw her boldness during the finale of Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week Show, where she stopped a fan from disrupting a fashion show by hopping on stage to join the models on the runway. Just as the crasher was heading for the stage exit, Hadid stepped in and stopped her. The video uploaded by ECRAN Magazine on Instagram, showed Hadid appearing to have a few choice words with the woman, before briskly grabbing her and dragging her off the runway. Naturally, the video went viral.
However, that’s not the only way Hadid has proven herself to be bold and courageous. Just recently, Hadid slammed petty people for criticizing her outfit over Twitter. She proved she needs no one’s approval for anything she wears or does.
According to HuffPost, Hadid clapped back to a petty tweet when a troll wrote in a since deleted tweet stating, “She’s such a natural beauty… idk what happened to her iconic street style tho,” after she went out to run an errand.
Hadid fired back with a series of tweets and lashed into the critic for being a petty complainer. She stated, “U guys need to calm down sometimes. It’s called stepping out to do one errand- not dressing for your approval. Your unrealistic expectations … about my style or not being sexy enough isn’t going to make me dress differently.”
Hadid also brought up a point about self-expression. She claims that opinion will sway the way she dresses because it’s all about how she feels in the pieces she wears. Praise it or not, she will wear what she wants to wear.
I like what I wear and wear it for that reason. It’s not about a stylist, it’s how I’m choosing to express myself. Your opinion isn’t going to change that. Those of you who feel this way should focus your energy on praising those whose style u love. Peace.— Gigi Hadid (@GiGiHadid) November 6, 2019
Although most tweets have since been deleted, Hadid brought up another good point about empowering women. According to HuffPost, Hadid stated on Twitter, “Not just talking about this specific comment. U all talk about empowering women. I support and empower women that show skin and that don’t. It’s about choice. I show skin when I want to and still feel sexy covered head to toe … Over the snarky comments.”
Instead of giving it too much attention, Hadid spins the situation into a positive note while getting her point across. She proves to all of us that she is not on to mess with. She stands up for what she believes in and that is something we can all appreciate.
