Have you ever scrolled through Instagram or Pinterest and come across a picture of someone wearing the prettiest eyeshadow you’d ever seen? Don’t you wish you could just reach through the screen and instantly have it in your hands? Well wish no more, because your dreams have come true!
Say hello to the Mink, the world’s first 3D makeup printer.
Now, thanks to co-founder and CEO Grace Choi, you can make a sheet of makeup out of any photo you have — whether it be from the internet, Instagram, or your camera roll.
Choi and her team first debuted the creation at the tech startup conference in 2014 and have been working out the kinks in their Mink for the past 5 years. Now it’s ready for pre-order for fall 2020 on their website.
Choi explains the process to beauty news source Allure, and it only takes about a hot minute. Simply download the desired image into the Mink app and choose whether you want to print just one color or the entire image. After that, insert a special Mink makeup sheet into the printer, hit send, and out comes your perfect palate!
Their Instagram has a video that outlines how it all works:
Your custom makeup set will be good to go on a piece of paper light as air. To transport the delicate image without smudging it, Choi recommends covering it in its original plastic film.
The Mink is where technology, beauty, and convenience all gloriously intersect, as its product description boasts that this cute little cube “combines the endless variety of content from the internet, the newness and relevance of social media, and the convenience of the home.”
So hurry up and print your own Sephora supply at home! If you hop on it now, you can pre-order your own limited-supply Mink for $295 instead of its original $395. Think of all the money you’ll be saving on makeup with this printer…
