Society has been extremely saturated with the Fidget Spinner trend. It seems as if everywhere you go, especially at any store, there’s usually a child using their fidget spinner or asking their parents to buy them one. (Yes, these are what the kids are asking for nowadays). But the fidget spinner is revolutionizing and is now being utilized as a compact for lipgloss products. And its design really brings us back…to the 90s!
We introduce to you The Glamspin: A fully-operating toy and makeup product. Totally comparable to those really cheap, plasticey 90’s lip products.
Fad And Fashion Collide
The Glamspin product was actually created by Buzzfeed’s Product Lab and Taste Beauty. In an interview with AdWeek, the head of Buzzfeed’s Product Lab, Ben Kaufman, stated: “While we were watching the fidget trend and covering it editorially, we were hesitant to build our own spinner without a unique angle that set our product apart from the rest.”
Ben went on to say that Taste Beauty was the one to pitch the idea to Buzzfeed, “One of our vendor partners, Taste Beauty, and their founder Alex Fogelson had the idea of combining lip gloss and spinners and reached out to us with the idea on May 25.” And from there on, they created the Glamspin.
The lipgloss product offers some fruity flavors: peach whirl, strawberry cyclone, and grape twist.
Also, Glamspin will be retailed at $9.99 each and expects to ship out in mid-July, but is currently available for pre-order online at glamspin.com.
The Similarities Between Makeup Fidget Spinner And 90’s Kids Makeup Is Uncanny!
Remember the 90’s kids makeup? Back in the day, artificially vibrantly colored, flimsy plastic and Nickelodeon commercials were totally in. 90s babies know their ‘cheap and kid-targeted’ cosmetic products were full of sweet, sweet nostalgia.

Do you see what we mean? This fidget spinner is just another cheap way to store lipgloss in a different ‘style’ of shape. Now, a newer generation of children that will be able to experience this updated version of a 90’s concept of compact makeup. And even though we think that these nostalgic products are extremely comparable to the Glamspinner, we do predict to see these lipgloss products being used by the trendy children of 2017. Who knows what they’ll make next!
Now, 20 years later were getting a rerun…so, we’re a little hesitant about whether or not the color quality is up to par and if the flavors are true to their scent description.
