Tie-Dye Hair Is The New Colored Hair Obsession You Need To See

By Kelsey Stoskopf

Colored hair has been trending for a while now. From bright blues to soft pinks, colored hair is another fun way to express your personality. Now there’s another way to add bold color to your hair! Tie-dye hair is exactly what it sounds like. Just like you tie-dye a shirt, you can tie-dye your hair by tying it in knots and adding different colors through out.

To start, tie your hair in sections about 2 to 4 inches wide. Once you have the sections, continue to tie rubber bands around the length of the ponytails about 3 to 4 inches apart. Tie a piece of fabric around the rubber bands to make sure that portion of hair does not get dyed.

Now you’re ready to tie dye. Carefully paint different colors onto each of the divided sections of hair. Choose two to three colors per section of hair and blend them together as you go down the hair. Once you have let the colors sit in your hair for the amount of time specified on the hair dye instructions, remove the bands and wash.  You’re left with a tie-dye hair color look that is to “dye” for.

We love this colorful look! Thank you Rickey Zito for this awesome tutorial!
