A UK online pharmacy took a difficult topic and turned it into a project to open our eyes as to what the beauty standards are and how they vary across the world. From the United States, to China, to Venezuela, the differences in beauty standards are shocking. What do you think of this project?
Italy
While the United States may have one form of the ideal female body, many other countries have their own ideal, and it's something completely different.

No matter where you are or who you're with, ideals change between cultures, environments, societies and much more.
Egypt
This project, called "Perceptions of Perfection," looks at one body and how it is altered in different countries to fit the countries' ideal for a woman's body.
Netherlands
The goal of the project was to show unrealistic body standards and the pressures they cause around the world.
Romania
Designers from each of the countries altered the woman's body in order to fit their society's perception of beauty.
Mexico
Some altered hair color, skin tone and body measurements.
China
Others altered the woman so much, the original woman was almost unrecognizable.

It is interesting to see how different and similar beauty standards are across the world.

And to learn the sad reality that these standards don't just face women in the United States.

Many countries greatly enhanced the womanly features on the model.

And others even changed the color of the lingerie and shoes she was wearing to make her more appealing.
