For the time period, “Gone With The Wind” had the most extravagant and drool-worthy wardrobe, consisting of over 5,000 originals costume items. Scarlett’s ability to always look elegant despite her many hardships inspired the fashion world as well as women everywhere. This old film has one of the most famous film makeovers of all time, featuring Charlotte Vale, played by Bette Davis. Not only did Charlotte have a rocking wardrobe but also spectacular shoes. Shoe designer, Manolo Blahnik loved her cruise ship transformation scene so much that he created a whole line inspired by Charlotte’s shoes.

While most people do not envy Bonnie’s life choices, they do envy her wardrobe. Robbing banks has never looked so stylish. Although the film was set in the 1930’s, her style had a 70’s feel to it with the knits, tweed, and berets. Fashion model, Kate Moss, has named “Bonnie and Clyde” as her favorite movie and we can definitely see the Bonnie inspiration in her style.

Cher Horowitz was the most enviable character of the 90’s. Every girl dreamed of having a closet like hers with a computerized outfit maker and rotating racks of color coordinated clothes. Her matching suits, knee high socks, and crazy amounts of plaid stands as an icon of 90’s fashion.

The Great Gatsby

The 1974 film took the 20’s flapper style to a whole new level, winning and Oscar for Best Costume Design. Daisy’s almost exclusively white wardrobe was full of loose, flowing dresses, strands of pearls, and beautiful hats. The Jazz Age has continued to appear and reappear in designer collections.

Julia Roberts played the quirky prostitute turned classy glamazon in this beloved film. Roberts created quite the stir in the fashion industry with her polo match ensemble; the brown polka doted dress, with the matching gloves and hat. Grease

Olivia Newton John’s transformation from goody-two-shoes Sandy to sexy bold Sandy is one of the greatest film transformations. Her good girl style of full skirts and fitted sweaters was dramatically replaced with killer red pumps and a rockin’ skin tight black outfit.
