11 Fitness Hacks That Will Make Working Out Much Easier

By Minq Team

Some people actually enjoy working out, but for most of us, working out is a chore that we don't look forward to. Luckily, there are a bunch of ways to turn your time at the gym into something much more enjoyable. Try these tricks to make getting into shape fun!

Listen to an Audiobook

If you are someone who hates cardio because you either get really bored or you just count down the minutes until you are done, this hack will be a lifesaver. Find a riveting book recording and listen to it only when you work out. The time will fly by and you will actually want to work out more so you can to hear what happens next.

Invest In Cute Clothes

This really does make a difference. When you feel fierce you will actually want to go to the gym and show off. Plus, clothes designed for athletic purposes offer more movement and airflow leading to a better, more comfortable work out.

Make a Schedule

If it has been a while since you regularly worked out, create a schedule. The first month is crucial in creating a habit of exercising. Pick a few days a week when you know you will have an hour to designate to fitness. But this only works if you stick to your schedule!

Commercial Break

Make a TV workout game. At every commercial break get up off the couch and move. Run, do sit-ups, dips, or pushups. This will keep you moving while increasing your heart rate. You will be surprised at how much you will sweat.

Have a Gym Bag on Hand

Always keep a gym bag in your car or at work even if you aren’t planning on working out that day. When you have to go home and get ready, your motivation goes down. But if your bag is ready to go you have no reason not to work out.

Get Ready the Night Before

If you are an early morning gym-goer who often chooses sleep over working out, plan the night before. Lay out your clothes, shoes, ear buds, and water bottle. You just gave yourself ten extra minutes of sleep!

Reward Jar

Create a reward jar to help motivate you to stay with it. Every time you work out put in a dollar. At the end of six months buy yourself a new fitness gadget, boot camp class, or new outfit!

Use an Activity Monitor

There are a bunch of cool gadgets designed to keep track of your activity, like Nike Fuelband or Fitbit. While these can be a little expensive they can also be well worth the investment. Every day you will want to challenge yourself to reach your goals.

Tell The World

Tell people, your friends or family, your plans on losing weight, running a 5k, or gaining muscle. Studies show that you are more likely to follow through on a commitment once you have told someone about it.

Workout Buddy

Fact: Working out with someone else makes it less likely that you will bail on a workout sesh. Find a friend who is at a similar fitness level and try to push and motivate each other.

Switch It Up

Doing the same exercise routine is super boring, but also doesn’t help your body. Over time, your muscles remember certain movements and exercises so they don’t work as hard. Try a fun class like Zumba of HIIT once a week. Or focus on a certain muscle group each day. If you need ideas, YouTube is packed with tons of videos and tutorials.
