The media and their impossible beauty standards have really taken a toll of the self esteem of many women and girls. From fat shaming to skinny shaming, everything that makes women beautifully unique is criticized. We are too curvy, too thin, have cellulite, have stretch marks. Hello? We are human. Our bodies have flaws. But it’s time we embrace our flaws because they make us who we are, beautiful. That’s exactly what the Love Your Lines Instagram campaign is trying to achieve.

Love Your Lines is a viral global initiative that encourages women to show off their stretch marks instead of hating them. Supermodel Chrissy Teigen was not shy to show off her stretch marks with the fun Instagram caption, “Stretchies say hi!”

Sports Illustrated model Robyn Lawley also proudly displayed her stretch marks calling them “tiger stripes.” In her facebook post, she explained why she feels so strongly about this campaign. She said, “We put an unbelievable amount of ridiculous time-consuming pressure on women to care so much about their flaws they forget how truly beautiful they are today.” As a mom of a 7-month-old daughter she added, “To anyone who feels bad about your body especially after a baby, you are warrior.”

We love this powerful message. We, as women, are strong, confident warriors and it’s time we embrace our “battle scars” because they make us who we are!
