Do you ever wonder what your parents think about your choice of outfits? While my mom has no problem telling me what looks good and what doesn't, my dad, on the other hand, could care less. I decided to find what he really thought I should be wearing to work and I never thought this would happened.
While most dads can be quoted telling their daughters to get a longer skirt, my dad has never remotely cared about my outfits.

The only time he's ever said anything about my outfits, was to make a snide, sassy comment about how ridiculous it was. Hey, sometimes I just have to rock a messy bun, athletic shorts and a tank top, dad.
Needless to say when I gave him the task of picking out my clothes for the week, he was dreading it. What dad wouldn’t?!

While my dad may not know much about fashion, his protective instinct came out when he made sure to look at the weather for the week to see what types of outfits he needed to pick out for me to wear.
I thought maybe his first big gesture would be to blindly pick out outfits. I’m talking throwing random clothes together in hopes to make me look absolutely ridiculous. But that was not the case.

Despite being soft spoken, my dad is a huge jokester once you get to know him. I really thought he'd take this opportunity to make me look as much of a hot mess as he could.
“Nothing does anything for me here.”

He spent about five minutes sorting through the clothes in my closest before telling me I really needed to go clothes shopping. Is this an offer, dad? He clearly was out of his element here, but despite not knowing what to pick at all, he trucked on.
Between spring like colors fit for a warm spring day and an outfit only fit for casual Friday, my dad laid all his choices out on the bed carefully.

His matching skills weren't always the best, but at first glance, he wasn't doing all that bad. Who knew my dad was semi decent at putting outfits together?!
The first outfit up on the list? This simple as it can get black and white ensemble.

From far away the outfit doesn't look that bad. In fact, this outfit even got a "OOO this looks good!" exclamation out of my dad, which is saying something for my dads soft spoken nature.
But at a closer look, my dad completely failed on the shoe part of this outfit.

While we can see how his man brain paired a black and white stripped shirt with black and white stripped shoes, these definitely did not go. You would think he thought I was going to volleyball practice! Oh dad, what were you thinking?!
The second outfit was a big home run in my book.

His reasoning behind this outfit was the spring colors in this dress matched the spring weather outside. Good thinking, dad. I love this dress and my dad's logical reasoning definitely played out well with this outfit.
I think my dad had a brief flash back to the 50’s with this outfit.

While he thought the A-line skirt was fitting for work and the black sandals matched the colors, I'm not sure I would ever willingly pick out this outfit.
Of course not every outfit can be a complete winner.

The grey shirt could have definitely been swapped out for one that matched better. But hey, grey matches sort of well, right? At least my dad didn't stick me in jeans every day.
Despite the fact that my dad completely missed the plaid in the fall memo, this outfit was on point.

I secretly think the only reason my dad picked this outfit is because it was what I was wearing when I got engaged. Or, it could be the fact that I pretty much live in leggings.
This look was my favorite of the week. We break fashion rules around here with plaid in the spring time.

Whatever the real reasoning behind this outfit, how could you say no to leggings, cute booties and a comfy shirt?! Well done, dad.
“Let’s just call this casual Friday.”

Just because it's casual Friday doesn't mean I can get away with wearing this to work, dad. But hey, he had to get me to wear Jayhawks gear in there at least once.
If you couldn’t tell, I was not a fan of these Nikes with my jeans.

What were you thinking dad?! Some people can rock the jeans and tennis shoes look, I am not one of those people at all.
Just look at how awful these shoes look!

Overall, my dad did a lot better than I was expecting. I thought I'd come into work wearing the same jeans and t-shirts every day considering that's what he always wore to work. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised even though he complained about how complicated picking out my outfits really was.
