A Strange Request From A Wedding Coordinator

A donut shop manager had the craziest customer order that had something to do with a wedding turned sour. The groom managed to dodge marrying his bride and paid for it in the end. This is what happened:
The donut shop was about an hour from closing (it was 10 p.m., and they closed at 11) when the manager received a phone call from a woman who claimed to be a wedding coordinator. The manager was taken aback, as they don’t usually receive any wedding-related orders.
The wedding coordinator said she knew they were about to close soon but if they could just please give her a few minutes of their time. She needed to buy any and all of the donuts she could. She said the wedding cake had been destroyed and the bride was a huge fan of donuts since childhood and was willing to substitute.
“If we’re willing to help her out in any way we can, she’ll buy everything we have,” remembered the manager.
The Congratulatory And Ceremonial Donuts Packed For The Occasion

At first, the manager thought this could be an odd joke, but there was something that told him otherwise. The manager told the coordinator that he could help her out if she got down to the shop before closing.
“There was a note of controlled panic in this woman’s voice that told me she wasn’t messing with me. I said that we were going to close in an hour, but if she could get to the store ASAP, we would work with her,” the manager wrote.
The wedding coordinator arrived within ten minutes. She pretty much wiped out all their stock, and snagged the biggest cream puff they had for the “ceremonial donut.” As she was getting ready to pay, the manager asked her to wait just a moment. In a fit of inspiration, he grabbed some eclairs and wrote “Congrats” on one, and “[Name]” And “[Name]” on the other two, and told her to put them above and below the “ceremonial donut.”
“Not fancy, not all that professional a job, but I figured it would be cute and maybe bring a smile to the ceremony,” he wrote.
The wedding coordinator thanked the manager profusely and ran out the door.
Some time passed, and a happily married couple walked into the shop and asked for the manager. They were back from their honeymoon and just wanted to thank the manager in person for being so accommodating and for the surprise eclairs. It was then that they decided to share their full wedding cake disaster story…
When The Crazy Ex Went Berserk On The Groom’s Wedding Day

The groom apparently had a crazy ex-girlfriend, who somehow, some way, found out about the wedding. His ex was crazy, as in, trying to claim that she was pregnant with his kid a year after they broke up. She had this whole, detailed story that he snuck into her home and got her pregnant one night. DNA tests proved her wrong. When that failed, she became enraged that he was getting re-married. How dare he find happiness with someone other than her!
On the wedding day, she stormed into the venue, grabbed the wedding cake, and chucked it at the newlyweds! She ruined an entire three tier cake! Then, she began screaming how he was a deadbeat dad (to the kid who wasn’t his), before grabbing table bottles that she smashed on the ground.
Everyone was stunned in shock at first, but the groomsmen ultimately restrained the woman. They called the police who charged her with assault, assault with a weapon (from waving around a bottle and clocking a groomsman,) and destruction of private property (both from the couple and the venue).
She was also found to have been stalking the groom for months leading up to the wedding.
One Of Those Stories That Will Last A Lifetime

The cake couldn’t be salvaged since it was a combination of smashed and pelted with broken glass, but because of the bride’s brilliance about the donuts, they celebrated “cutting the donut” during their midnight lunch. They ultimately enjoyed the remainder of their night, but the bride’s gown was destroyed, a fair amount of the linens were ruined, and an arrest was made. Memories to last a lifetime!
The donut manager’s whole team gathered around the couple to see the pictures of what the wedding HAD been, and what it became. They got to see a shot of the cutting, with the eclairs in full view. In another photo, the couple were holding up their own named eclairs with huge grins, and then another of feeding them to each other.
The wife, bless her brilliant, warm soul, was laughing and smiling in all the pictures, even with cake and frosting splattered all over her gorgeous dress. Later shots of her were in casual clothes when her mom raided her suitcase so she could take off the dress. She said it was going to be one of “those stories” that she’s going to laugh about with her kids in years to come.
