There's nothing worse than hair flying all over the place in your face while you get fit. Hair can be out of the way AND beautiful while you work out! Try these hacks and hit the gym in style!
Bang Braid
You braid with three strands, so take three at the front and start braiding, then even couple braids combine the first and third into one and add another further down the side. You'll end up with this great braid that looks good and keeps most of your hair out of your face!
Waterfall Braid
For an elegant look at the gym, you can lock your hair to the side while still having flowing hair by using a Waterfall Braid. To do this, you just start a regular braid and keep leaving the bottom strand to fall down while picking up another moving back. Youtube some tutorials if it's giving you trouble!
90 Second Ballerina Bun
The trick: Spin pins. Put those bad boys in and your hair will stay locked in this bun through the toughest of workouts.
Zipper Braid
If you braid from the back to the front, you can keep loose hairs from coming lose back there while you work out. This one is thanks to Physique 57.
Secure The Top
Alternatively, you could just do a regular braid from the front in order to keep bangs and side hairs from falling down in your face mid work-out.
Knotted Ponytail
Better than a boring ponytail. Better way to keep it all back there.
Low Knot
A hair tie-less version of a pony tail that even works for shorter hair. This one is thanks to Jada Beauty.
Stopligh Topknot
This is one so quick you can do it anywhere. Take your top ponytail and knot it, making sure to secure it with a bobby pin. Found on totalbeauty.com.
Boxer Braid And Ballerina Bun
The name basically says it all; braid it back to keep all that hair secure, then knot it in the back to keep it up and stop it from flopping around. Found at thebeautydepartment.com.
Tiered Ponytail
With the goal still being to lock your hair down, a tiered ponytail will make sure each section is completely secure, and also looks much more textured than the boring regular ponytail. Courtesy of fashercize.com.
Yarn Bun
With yarn, you can set your hair up to be up and out of the way, but avoid having a hard bump like with a ponytail, and if your hair is thinner the yarn also adds some volume.
60 Second Sock Bun
A simple sock bun can get the job done too, without bobby pins no less.
Upzing Clip
This tip from sportyafros.com, the upzing clip will give you a cool pulled-back hair look with only a little product needed to get the rest of your hair under control too. Use it before or after the gym, both work!
Minnie Mouse Bun
Take the dual ponytail concept, and instead turn it into two braids that you put in a bun. Keeps everything up and to the side, out of the way! This one thanks to fashercize.com.
Double Braid for a Swim
If you're swimming, your hair may be easier to control since it's always getting wet, but if you want it to stay back without ever flowing over your face, a double braid will help you out. You may miss floating with your hair everywhere like a mermaid underwater though.
Make Your Own Coconut Oil Spray Before You Go Swimming
Your hair is going to soak up something if you're getting into the pool. Make it a conditioner and not chemical infested pool water. Try this custom coconut oil from TheBeautyDepartment.
Quick Emergency Kit
If you haven't done so already, make yourself an emergency hair kit to fit inside your purse. Take an old container that is airtight, like a spice container, and fill it with your favorite quick and easy hair tools. These should be able to help you out when it's time to leave the gym if you're expecting to see somebody after.
