Are you daring enough to own a pair?
Forget about thong jeans of yesteryear, butt-less jeans are now the hot, strange denim trend of the fashion world.
The jeans in question, made by British fashion company ASOS, are just like normal jeans, minus the backside. They’re held up by metal chains over the thighs and are priced at $125. The pants have singer Kehlani’s stamp of approval, as she recently paired the jeans with fishnets at a concert in New Zealand.
Paired with the black undergarments (which are not included with the purchase), the jeans cover more than the average bathing suit, but are still making people scratch their heads and wonder, “…but why?” Wouldn’t you feel an incredibly unpleasant breeze while out walking around? What if one of the chains broke and your pant leg just, like, fell off?
Since their debut, the backlash against these butt-less jeans has been unrelenting.
Twitter user @beelucinda tweeted, “SURELY these jeans aren’t legit asos? Do the black pants come with though…”
Another Twitter user, @Sineadd_xo posted, “Are ASOS having a laugh? Why would I want a pair of jeans that don’t even cover my [butt]?”

With all the internet bashing, it’s unlikely that this design will take off. But ASOS can try?
