The first couple in the Land Down Under said "I Do" in a location most would never expect - Costco!
The first Costco wedding to happen in the Land Down Under, happened this past Saturday.
9 News: A Current Affair reported that the couple, Sue and Eli, tied the knot at their local Crossroads Costco in Casula (a suburb of Sydney, Australia).
Sue’s son, Josh, walked his mother down the aisle on her big day. And according to Josh, he wasn’t that surprised when his mother told him that her wedding was to take place in the supercenter.
“She loves this place so much and she’s here all the time. It’s like a second home for her. So when she told me, it just made sense to me.”
Sue explained why she chose Costco as the location for her big day by proclaiming her love for the store.
“Where else can I get married to the one I love, in a place that I love, surrounded by the people I love?”
When asking the groom about how his family reacted to the news that his wedding would take place at Costco, he said that his family members were confused, at first. But then his family got on board with the idea.
The couple not only had close friends and a ton of family members attend, but they even had Saturday afternoon shoppers witness the life event.
But what about the Wedding Reception?
Not only was the Wedding ceremony held at Costco, but the reception was as well. I mean, you just can’t beat the deals when it comes to food for your guests.
Meals under $10 Australian dollars included: Pizzas, meat pies, hot dogs, even unlimited soft drinks (for only $1.49 AUD).
And the cake came from the Costco bakery, including emblems, the couples’ names, and also, the Costco logo.
That is a pretty solid deal on an entire wedding day event!
Congrats to the newlyweds!
