23 Amazing Thanksgiving Crafts You Can Do With Your Kids

By Minq Team
Song_about_summer

Thanksgiving isn't always considered the most exciting holiday for kids. Sandwiched between almost every kids' favorite holidays, Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving comes off looking just like a boring family renunion. That doesn't have to be the case, though -- there are a ton of arts and crafts that you can do with kids to make Thanksgiving a blast.

Gratitude Wreath

Grab a cheap wreath from the store and cut paper leaves out of construction paper. Write down what you’re grateful for and put them in the wreath!

Leaf Turkey

Leaves that have fallen off the tree are perfect for festive arts and crafts. Go outside and round up those colorful leaves and place them in a ‘fan’ pattern and draw eyes on them to mimic a turkey.

Gumdrop Turkeys

Gumdrop turkeys are fun and delicious! Ball up some gumdrops and then use toothpicks to spike outward. On the tips of the toothpicks you’ll want to stick a gumdrop.

Toilet Paper Roll Turkey

A paper plate and a toilet paper roll is all you really need for a turkey. Cut the plate in half and glue it to the back of the toilet paper roll. Then decorate!

Glove Turkey

Short and sweet, fill a rubber glove with colorful candy or cereal, put plastic eyes on it and tada! You have a glove turkey.

Turkey Hunting

Much like egg hunting during Easter, place little turkey toys around the yard and house for kids to hunt down and find!

Fruity Turkey

Find a bright apple and stick 4 to 5 toothpicks into the top in a half circle. Place grapes on the toothpicks until the wood is no longer visible. Then you can either draw fake eyes on the apple or place small plastic eyes.

Hand Turkey

You’ve probably made these in school and it never gets old! Trace around your hand on construction paper, cut it out, color each finger and draw a turkey on the thumb.

Thanksgiving Tree

Much like the hand turkey, cut out tracings of your kids hands and then attach them to a tree branch cut out from brown construction paper. You can add gratitude phrases to the leaves.

Feather Hand Turkey

Let’s take our hand turkey to the next level! Follow the same instructions as before only this time we’re gluing some bright colorful feathers to the fingertips.

Turkey Roll Holder

We love those rolls on Thanksgiving don’t we? This year let’s take our basket and put a turkey head cut out the kids make and stick it on the end of the basket. It looks like a giant turkey! Some paper plates make the perfect wings and tail.

Kiddie Table

Spruce up your kiddie table with arts, crafts and even Pilgrim themed toys!

Clothes Pin Thankful Banner

Take a piece of construction paper and glue clothes pins to it. Then cut out leaves and write what you’re thankful for and clip it to the banner.

Turkey Hats

Take a strip of construction paper and glue a hand turkey to the center. Then, wrap it around the head of your children and use a glue stick to make it attach in the back!

Finger Paint Turkeys

Take you and your kids hands and dip them in paint. Push your hands down onto the paper and create fun little turkeys all over the page. Don’t forget the eyes!

Turkey Cups

Fill plastic cups with treats for the kids to eat. On the cup, glue little turkey head cut outs!

Pumpkin Turkey

Pumpkins are all over the place from Halloween last month. Decorate a pumpkin turkey that will be perfect on your Thanksgiving table.

Turkey M&M Bags

These little M&M bags are so cute, and make great party favors for your guests! All you need is some pipe cleaners and googly eyes.

Pilgrim Hat Table Decorations

Pilgrims and Thanksgiving go hand in hand. Build some adorable Pilgrim hat decorations!

Coloring Books

Spend time with your kids coloring in some Thanksgiving themed coloring books found in stores!

Turkey Bowling

Find some cheap bowling pins from the dollar store and create turkeys and pilgrims to stick on the pins! Whoever gets a strike gets to eat their desert first!

Turkey Place Cards

Have your kids help you make some cute turkey place cards for the table.  Some corks, yarn, and feathers make the perfect little turkey.

Family Play

Dress everyone up as Pilgrims and Turkeys made from fun fabrics. Put on a play for the whole family!
