You’ll Never Believe What This Stylish Necklace Is Disguised As!

For many women, being technologically savvy and stylish just don’t go hand in hand. In a society so fixated on technology, there are very little tech goods made with a stylish woman in mind. Aniyia Williams noticed this and set out to create just that, technology for women. She started the company Tinsel to create products that are not only technologically advanced, but have a sense of style as well. The first product she designed is called The Dipper. It is a chunky, metallic chevron necklace that disguises a very useful thing, ear buds. The ear buds themselves are hidden in the big chevron part of the necklace, while the headphone jack is hidden inside of a clasp at the back of the neck. By having the ease of ear buds at your finger tips, or around your neck we should say, you no longer have to dig endlessly in your purse only to find your headphones a tangled mess.

You can’t even tell this stylish necklace has hidden ear buds inside of it, and that was one of the biggest challenges for Williams. She first knew she had to make it look like a necklace women would want to wear. She teamed up with a female industrial designer who has designed things from clutches to part of the NASA spacecraft. They looked to Pinterest to get ideas of what women like wearing and then set out to create a necklace made of an aluminum alloy pendant and stainless steel chain.

Although the look and feel of the necklace was a high priority, so was how the ear buds actually sounded. Williams knew women wouldn’t invest in this necklace if the quality of the ear buds was just mediocre. The typical headphone controls (volume, mic, pause/play) are hidden in the straps of the necklace as well.

We definitely think The Dipper could be useful for a long commute on the subway, a stroll through the park or a day at the office. The necklace also comes in two colors, gunmetal and gold. What do you think of Tinsel’s The Dipper?!
