The world of Instagram influencers is an interesting, albeit mysterious, place. Getting paid to portray a certain lifestyle sounds like a dream for many people. But, it's not necessarily an easy feat. There are all sorts of tips and tricks to gaining a following on the internet but this apartment might be one of the craziest we've heard yet.

No, all your favorite influencers aren't roommates. At first glance, this may look like the apartment of a millennial's dreams - rose gold accents, blush pink furniture, succulents abound. But, in fact, no one is living in this space! This NYC apartment, for which rent would usually be $15,000/month, is instead being rented out by a group called Village Marketing. They allow influencers to utilize the apartment by the hour. They flock to the perfectly curated space to have photoshoots for their pages - paying as much as $10,000!

You might be asking yourself: why would anyone do this? Well, it all comes down to followers! People clamor to see Instagram celebrities living a high-society lifestyle that not all of them actually have access to. Brands want to sponsor people who have the life that those followers want to see. So, why pay $15,000 a month in rent to have the perfect apartment for your posts when you can pay a measly one time fee of a few thousand and get enough pictures for months!

Has the world of the influencer gone too far? Is it wrong to profit off a lifestyle you aren't even living? Or, is it all fair game in the life of the professional social media star? Let us know what you think in the comments!
