12 Swimsuit Dos and Dont’s

Time to hit the beach! But with so many swimsuit styles trending right now, how do you know which look are fab and which are drab? When it comes to swim wear some styles are totaly spot on, whereas others need to be avoided at all costs.

Don’t: Skimpy Cover-Up

Less isn’t always more. When you’re in the summer heat you might not want to wear a lot of heavy clothes, but try to keep in mind the dress code of nearby restaurants. After a day in the sun you will probably want to grab some munchies, but a fishnet top and booty shorts are not going to make the cut.

Do: Lace Cover-Up

Just because your cover-up shouldn’t show too much doesn’t mean it can’t show anything at all. Lace is huge right now. Swap that revealing cover up for a lace dress. It will show the perfect amount of skin while still providing all the right coverage.

Some looks need to stay inside the bedroom. While lingerie styles can be super cute, it is not okay to wear a lingerie-inspired swimsuit out in public. Leave a little to the imagination and forgo the lace and sheer fabrics when it comes to swim wear.

Whether it’s simple crochet ties or an all over crochet pattern, you will rule the summer with this relaxed indie look. Be sure to water test your swimsuit before you jump into the pool or ocean to make sure it is not too revealing.

Even if you’re trying to work on your glowing summer tan, it is not worth the short and long term effects. Sun burns hurt, but more importantly don’t you want to keep your skin dark spot and wrinkle-free? Slather on the sunscreen, you will thank yourself later.

Do: Floppy Hat

The skin on your face is super sensitive and very susceptible to wrinkles and sunspots. A floppy hat is a cute way to shield your face from the sun. This perfect beach accessory will play up your carefree summer spirit while protecting your good looks.

Don’t: Be a Walking Advertisement

Corona is notorious for this tacky beach look. I don’t know why, but some women seem to think swimsuits with brand names and logos are really cute. They aren’t. They just make you look like you’re on the job for that company.

Do: Graphic One-Piece

Bodysuits have popularized the one piece again. Choose a galaxy print or a realistic animal print for a unique and on-style look. Don’t worry about looking crazy. A bold suit like this needs to be worn with confidence.
