No Boundaries, Or Standards Or Any Good Qualities Actually
Some people have no boundaries! While not everyone can be a decent human being, some people just have no desire to be kind or thoughtful at all. If you have ever dealt with a person like this, then you know how frustrating it can be when you cannot do anything about their behavior. And if you have never gotten revenge or been able to stand up against a Karen, or just a random entitled wannabe, this may satisfy your need for closure. Between a benign husband, a group of conniving spawns, and a malignant ring leader, there is enough chaos here to last a lifetime. And it pretty much did. Even though she had terrorized those around her for years, there would be justice. And it would come in a terribly amazing form. Even though she was crafty and clever, it was catching up with her. “The thing with Karens is that they expect everyone to suck it up, or make their dreams come true, or they simply underestimate everyone and think we are all fools.” This lady should have never overestimated her power and control.
So, for your daily dose of ridiculous entitlement, we have “Pam” (she’s the ring leader by the way) and “Ida” who are both 48 years old now, but have known each other for most of their lives. Ida had severed ties with Pam after college because Pam was an “opportunist,” “manipulative,” and “forceful.” Pam was everything that made Ida question having any connection to her. Ida had “sever seen someone so despicable and ridiculous at the same time.” When they had been close, Pam had extreme ideals and was insistent on having “five kids and a picket fence dream life.” And as life went on, Ida would realize Pam would try to achieve things by any means necessary. Pam was always playing the “underdog” and would do her very best to “elicit pity” when it would get her to her desired outcome.
Some people may have fallen for this act, but Ida refused to be Pam’s puppet and “happily got rid of her for years.” All of that came crashing down when in an apparent moment of weakness, and “politeness,” Ida accepted Pam’s friend request on a site they were both active on. And thus started the next series of outrageous events that led to the ultimate (no doubt satisfying) defeat of Pretentious Pam and her preposterous plots.

“It Was A Nightmare”
Let’s get right into why Pam deserved what was coming to her. Pam had become almost everything she had wanted for so long. She was now a mother of five and did anything she had to, to keep her life up to her expectations. She “demanded that her husband get her pregnant to fulfill her dream.” Pam loved the attention she got when she was pregnant and insisted on being spoiled the whole time. She even went as far as to demand a wheelchair so that she did not have to walk around. “Her kids did as they pleased and she would never call them out.” Her husband had to work three jobs at a time to provide for them as he tried to get her to work after baby three and was not successful. And now that Ida was back in the picture, “she tried to force a relationship between Ida and her daughters and made them call her Auntie.” She had become a force to be reckoned with. She would leave her kids at Ida’s house uninvited, constantly called her, and even found reasons to show up at Ida’s work. Nothing seemed to stop Pam, not even the boundaries Ida set. “It was a nightmare.”
Pam found a way to insert herself into and disrupt every aspect of Ida’s life once more. Even her volunteer work. And this was going to create an infuriating number of problems for Ida. Ida was part of their community service center volunteer program. It was a “very informal initiative” with different sectors for people to volunteer to be a part of. While Ida was a part of the homeless sector, there was also one for “helping women get their wedding and prom dresses for free.” Ida and her husband were hosting a “party for the community center new members,” and while the center’s headquarters were “a farm owned by an elderly couple,” the party was to be held at Ida’s house. Ida wanted to enjoy the party, but Pam made this impossible.
There was no way to exclude Pam from the activities and events. “It was an open invitation that included virtually everyone and she was very active as an event organizer.” However, she and her kids caused mayhem and mischief wherever they went. They had no boundaries and would “end up inside of Ida’s bedroom.” The owners of the farm headquarters had to add a lock to their gate because Pam would drop in without notice and interrupt events and gatherings. Talk about intrusiveness! Pam didn’t have a civil bone in her body. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree since her eldest daughter, “Callie” bullied Ida’s daughter throughout school without any intervention from Pam. Of course, unruly children aren’t always a sign of a crazy, entitled, outrageous mother, but this was only the beginning.
Besides her miscreant children, there were other red flags where Pam was concerned. Her social media presence for one thing. There were “cryptic rants” thrown about in the posts and comments with “friends’ complaints” about how Pam would leave her children with one of them for hours without notice and would not pay them back after going out to eat. She always had an excuse prepared, but the evidence of her selfishness and blatant disregard for manners was clear as day. Ida was surely regretting her decision to re-friend Pam now. The sad part was that even if she hadn’t there was no getting away from Pam as she was too involved with the community center to get away from her. It looked like no one was going to be able to get this woman to stop! Even her husband couldn’t seem to figure her out.

Poor Howie
Everyone knew how Pam was but no one did anything about it. Including her poor husband Howard. Not even when she stole some of the special gift donations for underprivileged kids from the community center. She was tasked with wrapping them and some of them went missing! No one could prove anything, but her children just so happened to have strangely similar gifts under their tree.
Howard seemed to have no say in how his wife or children acted. Pam had full control over him (but not her kids, how interesting). Howard was considered a “doormat” due to Pam’s constant self-serving behavior. “Pam had worn him down to a knob.” She had “left him for two months” after a “relentless campaign” to get her last two babies (She needed five, remember). “Pam also systematically bullied Howard.” Their marriage was on its last leg, but that wasn’t going to stop Pam. “Everyone liked him, but hated her equally.” He had no freedom and she squashed any of his attempts to socialize or be a normal father. He slowly retreated into what Ida’s husband described as a “depression” with signs of “mental distress.” Poor guy. Did Pam realize how much damage she had done? Good thing karma was about to catch up with her.

And Then There Was Hope
Remember the other sector of the community center that was focused on wedding and prom dresses? Well, Pam was a part of the team and she had decided it was her time to shine. (Who let her be part of charity work? She was obviously not very philanthropic). Usually dresses “were sourced from donations” and sometimes they got really great dresses.
Well, Pam decided it was time to renew her vows with Unhappy Howard and her “bridezilla Karenzilla attitude became the icing on the cake.” Firstly, she “bullied another couple into giving up their wedding date at the farm because she needed her renewal to match her exact wedding date.” Then she “became attached to a particular dress that was already assigned to another bride.” Even though she was having her ceremony at the farm, the coordinator for the dress project, “Lola,” “made it clear that Pam would need to buy her own dress.” Pam was sly, however, and since she was part of the committee that packed and shipped the dresses, she “played it cool and shipped the wrong gown instead.” She tried to cover her tracks even though everyone knew what she had done. “The other bride was gracious about it, albeit disappointed, and never made a scene.” She had been on welfare and was working hard to become stable once again. She deserved a wonderful wedding and dress. Pam almost ruined all of that for her. They did find a beautiful replacement for her, thankfully, but that didn’t solve the problem of Pam and her renewal ridiculousness. We can see where Callie got her “this is mine” strategy. This woman did not deserve her dress to be stolen from her and Pam deserved some payback even if she would never admit her crimes.
Lola banned Pam from the premises before her ceremony, but Pam didn’t accept this and fought it the only way she knew how: denial. She said, “This conversation is over, it’s my dress and you are mistaken.”
When Pam’s renewal date came along, she had gone above and beyond excessive. The whole thing was absolutely ludicrous. She had decked the whole place out, even though she had dodged paying people back for things she acted like she couldn’t afford. And when she had sent out the invitations, she required each person to bring a specific dish to the reception. She could pay for decor and mimosas, but she couldn’t get food catered? Of course, “potluck weddings can be a nice addition to a very cozy, family-oriented wedding reception, but don’t you need to at least be close to your guests in order to ask for such a thing?” Ida got an invitation, even after all the loathing brewing between them. But she made it clear to people she would not be attending. Pam had bullied some women into going and they became scared of the “confrontation” if they were to not attend.
Then something wonderful happened. Well more serendipitous than amazing, but it would be the answer to so many prayers.

Countdown To Meltdown. Three, Two, One
Lola contacted Ida and told her she had “peeked into the garment bag” while “Pam was caught up supervising the wedding decorating” and saw Pam’s wedding dress. She confirmed it was the dress the young newlywed bride was supposed to have been married in! The women knew something had to be done, but what? Lola was not taking this lightly and decided “she would just ruin the dress.” After all, the dress was technically hers because of the service sector she led. However, they knew Petty Pam was not above legal action and if she could point a finger at them, Ida and Lola knew they might have bitten off more than they could chew. So they schemed and came prepared that night when everyone else was gone.
If your first thought was to just take the dress and run, that was their first plan too! But then Pam would have had time to figure something out, and this needed to be effective if they had any hopes of ending Privileged Pam’s reign of entitlement. If they took the dress, Pam would surely “comb the earth trying to find a replacement.” No, that would not do. Ida thought ink would be a great addition to the dress as it would be ruined! But Lola had devised an even more cunning plot. She “locked herself in a bathroom stall and completely cut out the back panel,” then casually put the damaged dress bag in the garment bag so that it appeared untouched. Once they were finished, they grabbed the cut-out part of the dress and left for the night, acting as though they had not just pulled the most epic prank on the most wretched woman ever. The next day was going to be a challenge, though, as they would have to pretend they knew nothing about the dress and the damages. After everything Pam had done, this retribution needed to be a success.
It wasn’t until 7:00 am the next morning that it seemed Pam had unearthed their devious surprise. “Pam was frantic” when Ida finally answered her calls at around 8:00 am. Ida played her part and “purposely made her explain, being annoyingly dense and continually interrupting like she does, and stalling the conversation.” I bet Pam was irritated, too bad no one cared at this point! Pam tried everything she could, even trying to guilt-trip Ida into loaning her own wedding dress. Of course, Ida turned this down immediately. Pam even tried to get Ida to go on a hunt for a dress and pay for it! The day was Sunday and fortunately, there were no shops open. Pam had no choices. She was stuck between a rock and her own maliciousness.
After exhausting her pitifulness on Ida, she hung up and called Lola. Lola had no mercy. When Pam said, “Bring anything you have available,” Lola did not hold back how she felt about Pam. Ida helped her retrieve “the most outdated, moss-smelling, oversized dress.” Pam looked for any other choice, but it was this dress or nothing. She was defeated. The dress was dreadful, “it dragged all over the floor and she had to keep pulling it up.” “She walked down the aisle with one hand on her bouquet and the other grabbing her dress” that was “ limp and weird.” Even though it wasn’t part of the plan, there were barely any people there at the horrendous event. No one cared for Pam’s antics and this was the moment where they showed how disliked she really was.
Ida didn’t bother to stay for the rest of the evening, but she heard the details from the few that did. She stopped everything an hour early, changed into “leggings and a shirt,” and “she practically kicked everyone out and the cake was never cut.” There was a shift in Pam’s world and she completely changed. “She wasn’t the same after this.”

I’m Breaking Free
The difference was like turning on the light in a dark room. “She was not as loud and avoided everyone.” Her renewal ceremony must have been an eye-opener. Miraculously this didn’t just change Pam, it changed Howard as well. “Her husband finally cracked under all the pressure and sought some help.” Finally, he was able to break free from her stranglehold. He found a new license on life, even started riding his bicycle and smiling again. Eventually, after finding himself a bit and finding some happiness in the hope of newfound freedom, he filed for divorce. If Pam knew the truth about her dress, she didn’t say anything. “She slowly pulled away from the community center and became less active in social gatherings.” Pam even unfriended almost everyone from the same group she and Ida had been in, including Ida herself, which was such a relief.
Lady Justice saw peace that day. Pam needed to be taught a lesson. Would you have done something differently? Would you have taken off with the dress? Or maybe called her out right away? We never know until we are faced with a decision like Lola and Ida’s. One thing is for certain, there was retribution, even if it was harsh.
