We have seen some amazing success stories with Tinder, yet it has one glaring shortcoming; first impressions are based almost entirely on physical appearance rather than personality.
However, a dating app just popped up and we believe it’s on a whole new level. Recently, Oscar Mayer (yes, as in the Oscar Mayer Weiner) introduced a new dating app specifically for bacon lovers: Sizzl. Users can specify their bacon preferences in a customized profile by answering questions such as whether they like their bacon crunchy or chewy or if they prefer turkey bacon. Users are then connected via a mutual matching system. After all, what can be a better indication of personality than one’s palate for bacon?

Upon learning of Sizzl, we were immediately curious – does Sizzl really work? Does it result in adorable, happy bacon-loving couples? After doing some research, it is clear that the answer is a resounding yes.
Suzy shared her Sizzl’n experience via Huffington Post. After creating a profile which included choosing pictures from Facebook, and, of course, selecting her bacon preferences, Suzy looked for matches. She settled on Shawn as he liked crispy bacon while she liked chewy and, hey, opposites attract, right? After a conversation we found slightly strange, Suzy and Shawn met up for, um…”science bacon”.

Suzy and Shawn’s date involved bacon consumption of all kinds including “Lady and the Tramp” style bacon-eating as pictured above. Thrilled, Suzy shared that “the date was as smooth as slow-cooked pork belly on a Saturday morning”.
We can almost guarantee there will be a second date. Will you start Sizzl’n?
