For many girls, adding a few highlights here and there or keeping their color close to their natural shade is enough change. For others though, drastic changes to their hair are more exciting. Whether it is a completely different shade or a full head of blue hair, bold hair colors can say a lot about a women’s personality and how they want other people to perceive them.
For women who choose to dye their hair, it’s a way to show off their style, their confidence and their personality. With a variety of new hair color trends surfacing, like opal, galaxy, pastel and many more, more girls are choosing to show off their true colors. Long gone are the days of only expressing your style through your clothes. Now, you can say a lot more with your hair too.
A study performed at Nottingham Trent University wanted to see if women who dyed their hair had different personality traits than the women who chose to stick with their natural color. Researchers asked women how likely they would be to partake in various outgoing activities, like sing or dance in front of a group of complete strangers, ask someone out and experiment with something new. Generally, the women with dyed hair said they would be more likely to make these bold moves than the women who had natural hair.

The study showed that women with dyed hair are artistic and have a different perspective of beauty. Not that girls with natural hair do not posses these traits, but girls with colored-hair express these traits more.

The study claims that women with dyed hair deal with change better. Change can be a very scary, but since these women are used to changing their hair they welcome change in other aspects of their lives too.
What do you think of the study’s findings? Do you agree with them?
