We’ve all heard of eyebrow threading. You know what we’re talking about, right? Those bodegas in the middle of the mall, where you can look in and see a girl crying in pain with a lady standing over her looking like she’s crocheting her brows. Yep, that’s eyebrow threading. Ugh, we’re wincing just thinking about it. It may work, but dang does it look painful. Oh the price we pay to keep our eyebrows tamed.
Well, eyebrows aren’t the only things that can be threaded. There is a new threading technique that creates an instant face lift. An instant face lift? Yep, you read that right.
It may sound a little grueling, it is someone literally threading your face, but hear us out. Face-lift threading involves passing a tiny thread that’s laden with barbed sutures through the skin and pulling it up for an instant face lift. It can be used on more places than just your face too. Your neck, back or anywhere else you need a little boost can be threaded.
It may seem too good to be true though. According to Dr. Jennifer Herrmann of Moy-Fincher-Chipps in Beverly Hills, while face lift threading may not require large incisions or dissection of skin tissue, it shouldn’t be used as an alternative to a traditional face lift. The threads can’t lift the skin like a traditional face lift and the results are temporary and not as apparent.
While it may seem like the new hot trend is going to be face lift threading, we’re not so sure we’re sold on it. Your best bet if you really want a face lift, may be to stick with the more traditional process. What do you think of face lift threading? Are you ready to get laced up or are you already running in the opposite direction?
