Black Friday is right around the corner and that can only mean one thing, Christmas is even closer than we'd like to think it is. Yes, this means you better start shopping now. While we don't recommened going out on the craziest shopping day of the year, unless you like being pushed, shoved and possibly trampled, you better start gathering up all the wish lists from your little family members.
We all want to be known as the best gift givers, right? The hottest gift for kids this year? Bunchems! Bunchems are little plastic balls that can connect together to make a bunch of cool shapes and creations. Sounds safe enough, right? Wrong.
Before you run to the store to grab a Bunchems kit, you may first want to ask yourself if you want to risk your child's hair. Yes, you read that right. Bunchems are creating some serious damage to kids' long hair. Parents are taking to social media to express their concerns and warn other parents before they go out and buy a Bunchems for their own child.
The little balls were designed to stick to each other, but they also stick to your child's hair. And like gum, there's no going back once that happens. Even after hours and hours of trying to get the stubborn sticky balls out of the hair, many parents have had to resort to chopping their girls' hair off completely.
You're probably sitting there thinking, my child would never put these sticky little balls in their hair. Well, you may be right, but you could also be oh so wrong. It's probably not worth the risk. Whether they're playing around and land on a bunch of Bunchems or purposely stick them in their hair, the suckers are staying there.
Spin Master, the toy company behind Bunchems, recently has tried to make it clear that Bunchems are not meant to be put in hair and should only be attached to other Bunchems. The toy company also released a help video for parents on how to remove Bunchems from hair. It reccomends using conditioner or vegetable oil to get the sticky little balls out.
While Bunchems may be one of the hottest toy trends this year, losing hair may not be worth it.
