Everyone has something they love about their partner; a fun quirk, habit, little ritual, anything really. The best part? Their partner doesn't know they're doing it. Which makes it all the more cute.
Husbands on Reddit share the little thing their wives do that make them love them even more. Content has been edited for clarity.
“Something Just For Me”
“My wife has long hair and on car trips she always puts it up in a ponytail for easy management. When we get close enough to where we are going she sits up and looks out the window like an eager kitten with the cutest most intense interest in everything going by at 60mph. Her head goes left to right, left to right left to right… I don’t know why she doesn’t just use her eyes, but it makes her ponytail bounce and dance around behind her head. It’s one of my secret things I love about her… Just being so interested in new places and so freaking cute without knowing it.
She catches me cheesing at her and asks what, I always just say, ‘Something that’s just for me, I love you.'”
“She Can’t Help It”
“My wife makes herself immediately liked by everyone she meets by asking them a million questions about their life. I sometimes joke that it’s like the Spanish Inquisition but she can’t help it. It’s just a genuine deep interest in other people and it’s always apparent that’s all it is. Then the second time she’ll meet them she’ll remember all these little details about their life and they’ll love her for it. Like with sales people remembering their customer’s kids’ names except it’s 100% genuine and she has no incentive to do it.
“It’s Adorable And I Love It”
“My girlfriend sometimes says her L’s in a strange way that I’ve only heard from one other person who has a speech impediment. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s adorable and I love it.”
“I Find This Super Attractive”
“My wife was out running this morning and spotted a neighbor’s recycling bin on the curb – but it’s trash day. We barely know them – I think we’ve met them twice – but she knows they have mobility issues. So after checking the bin to confirm it is indeed recycling, she goes and swaps it for their garbage. Then carries on her way. That’s her all over, and yes, I find this super attractive.”
“Made Me Fall Harder For Her”
“I have a crush who is slow on catching on to a joke, teasing or stuffs like that. There was this one time where we went to a convenience store and the cashier asked for money by saying ‘5 dollars.’
To which she replied ‘Yes’ and just stood there waiting for god knows what.
The cashier was confused and me, knowing her, laughed my butt off. But she still didn’t get it, to which I told her, ‘Pay 5 bucks to the cashier for the items.’
To which she proceed to apologize many times. So darn cute. But she’s not exactly a klutz. Just sometimes, these rare ‘events’ happened. Made me fall harder for her every single time.
“It Was So Fluffy”
“One time we were in the McDonalds drive through, and she was talking about something that was bothering her. She suddenly stops mid rant because she saw the McDonalds parking lot kitty and ‘it was soooooo fluffy.’
And it might sound lame, but I noticed one day that she makes the same face when she sees me after I get home from work. That is one of many things that lets me know that she really loves me.”
“That Was Really Sweet And Cute”
“I work in Spain, and earlier this year there was this beautiful girl I was working with who I still keep in touch with. I felt really sick one morning and the doctor told me my life was at risk as it was a possible case of very bad double pneumonia and to go to the hospital immediately (I had been coughing up globules of blood that morning).
I went back to work to grab some stuff before I headed to the hospital. The girl asked me what was wrong, I told her what the doctor told me, and without thinking of her own health or safety she threw her arms around me and started crying. Despite only having known me for around 10 days she seemed to really care and to me that was really sweet and cute.”
“I Love It Like Crazy”
“My wife has a hard time remembering people’s names—particularly actors/actresses. She’ll be in the middle of a conversation and say something like, ‘That guy from the…. umm…’ and just look at me!
Then I’m like, ‘Keanu Reeves?’ and she immediately brightens up and yells, ‘KEANU REEVES!’ and then on with the conversation.
I like to joke that I’m her second brain but I love it like crazy.”
“One Of Those Things We Had In Common”
“Being into sports is a major one for me.
My wife wears makeup, can rock the ‘little black dress’ and looks great in heels. But on game day, she’s in her jersey and screaming at the TV like a barbarian, just like I do.
We support different teams and she’s loved sports well before she loved me, and it was one of the things we had in common at first.”
“I Secretly Think It’s Adorable”
“I wake up very early on the weekends to have some ‘me time.’ My partner tends to sleep in during those times. Around 11 AM, after I’ve spent some time with the dogs outside and returned to the couch, I got a call from her that goes something like this–
My lady: ‘Baby!?’
Me: ‘Yes dear?’
My lady: ‘I have an emergency!’
Me: ‘What kind of emergency?’
My lady: ‘A cuddle emergency!’
We’re both inside the house, mind you. I like to pretend it’s ridiculous that she’d call me from the seemingly anechoic chamber that is our bedroom; but, I secretly think it’s adorable.”
“It Kills Me Everytime”
“When she laughs at my jokes when they aren’t that funny. Snort when laughing. It makes me laugh so hard and. My wife and I have recliners that are connected, and I like to recline back and look over at her until she notices I’m looking. She then she turns her head and just smiles at me. My wife is also a fairly tall, strong woman and she doesn’t really have the higher pitched voice at all, but nothing beats when she curls up next to me in bed and her voice gets a little higher as she says ‘I love you.’
It kills me everytime. Last but definitely not least, my wife drools. I don’t know why i find it cute but i do. I’ll be laying next to her and she’ll wake up and I’ll go to move my arm under her but above her pillow.
I’ll feel it and just say, ‘You’re drooling again.”
My wife will flip her pillow and giggle and say, ‘yep’ every time.
I think i just found out why I love my wife.”
