Most dog owners would agree that their pets can do some fantastic things with the proper training. You can teach a pooch to sit and fetch, but even the most enthusiastic dog person would raise eyebrows if you told them one learned how to play UNO.
Well, that’s precisely what one dog on TikTok appears to have learned how to do. Haley Deecken runs the TikTok channel @haleyandthepets. She typically showcases wholesome content with her adorable pets, including funny interactions that dog people will immediately relate to.
One of her latest videos went viral, with a whopping 40 million views. The caption reads, “@uno, let’s invent the worlds first card game all dogs can play.
Haley is playing UNO with two of her dogs: Dunkin and the affectionately named Moldy Dunkin. At the start of the video, a caption appears, which reads, “No way can you teach those dogs to play Uno.” The rest of the video is recorded over a tabletop where Haley appears to play the famous card game against her fluffy opponents.
While there is clearly some smooth editing, the dogs are indeed picking up UNO cards and placing them on the stack. Their card choices make sense, like matching the colors. The pets even flip out when they are dealt a “+1 Card.”
The UNO Dog Video Garnered Thousands Of Responses
The video quickly amassed over 37,000 comments. The top comment, with over 1 million likes, reads, “NOT THEM CRASHING OUT πππ.”
One jokes, “Imagine telling someone you lost uno, TO A DOG,” while another writes, “Best thing I have seen on tiktok since musicly.”
Haley is also quite active in the comments section. A user jokes, “Get him in a casino.” Haley replied, “We start tn.”
In an interview with People, Haley admits that her dogs don’t fully understand UNO’s rules. However, they do grasp the concept of matching colors. “They know it’s a fun game where you have to match shades. That’s the big picture for them,” she told the outlet. Haley also told People that Dunkin can play Tic-Tac-Toe, and her dogs have appeared in commercials and TV shows.
