Diamond Tankard, a former reality TV star on Bravo’s ‘Thicker Than Water,’ was arrested on Friday, July 18, in Tennessee. The show ran between 2013 and 2016.
According to a report by USA Today, officers arrested Tankard at a Walmart in Nashville after she allegedly struck a customer with a sock filled with rocks. The outlet cites court documents, which reportedly say police officially charged the reality TV personality on Saturday, July 19. She faces one count of theft of property and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Per Davidson County Court records, the theft charge states, “Theft over $1,000.”
USA Today cites a probable cause affidavit that reveals what allegedly happened at the store. Nashville officers responded to a call about an assault at Walmart. The victim told authorities that Tankard attacked her while she was at a self-checkout. The affidavit says she “came from behind, grabbed her by the hair (and) began to assault her.”
When officers arrived, they reportedly noted the woman had a laceration on her forehead.
The Former Reality TV Star Reportedly Stole Several Items After The Attack
The outlet reveals that Tankard allegedly stole two items after the assault. The victim’s iPhone 14 and a Louis Vuitton handbag worth around $900. Per WSMV, the victim’s grandmother said Tankard had a sock full of rocks and used it as a weapon. The outlet also reveals the store as the Walmart at 3035 Hamilton Church Road.
Both outlets report that the incident was captured on CCTV cameras around the checkouts. USA Today explains that the footage shows Tankard gathering items from the ground, which authorities believe are the handbag and phone. Authorities reportedly saw in the footage that the suspect struck the woman with something white in her right hand, but were unable to identify what it was.
Emergency services took the victim to a local hospital, where she required stitches. Per WSMV, authorities released Tankard after posting her $25,000 bond. According to People, this isn’t Tankard’s first run-in with the law. She was reportedly charged with attempted felony murder, failure to give aid, file a report, or notify police after a car accident in December last year.
