A good online presence has become a massive part of running any animal rescue shelter. One particular establishment has gone viral after it posted a hilarious entry about a tiny dog with a massive personality.
If you’ve ever owned a small dog, you know they think they can take on the world despite their size. The viral advert by Renegade Paws Rescue in Georgia knows it too, calling their innocent-looking pooch a “sentient middle finger wrapped in a cloud of fur.”
It’s clear the shelter had a ton of fun writing their piece for Igor, a Chihuahua long coat cross. “We have reason to believe he’s a cursed Victorian child masquerading as a 10lb stuffed animal,” the post reads. After revealing that Igor wants to massacre any family that adopts him, Renegade Paws jokes, “We tried training and he made the trainer cry. We tried treats, and he gobbled them and then suffocated the house with the chemical warfare that came out of his rump.”
They don’t call Igor a “good boy” and describe owning him as “an experience.” The post hilariously concludes, “His adoption requirements include at least one human who finds small, emotionally stunted men ‘intriguing.'”
The Rescue Shelter’s Post Has Gone Viral With Thousands Of Likes And Comments
The shelter’s unforgettable adoption advert has almost 100k likes, with thousands of users praising the establishment for its post. It made such an impression, brave trainers even took the 10lb menace onto the ‘Morning Boost’ section of the TODAY show. One popular comment on Facebook reads, “Whoever runs this page needs a raise.” Another jokes, “Igor needs his own Netflix series to tell the true story, free of your human societal expectations.”
Renegade Paws Rescue has also been quite active in the comments section, noting that the “fluff-coated poltergeist” is potty-trained. Replies on many social media posts are a mixed bag, but this is a treasure trove!
The shelter also shares a link that provides more information about Igor. His fee is listed as $325. Igor’s adoption form is a little kinder on Shelterluv, but makes it very clear that any brave owners are in for quite a challenge. The post explains that many things are new to him, and he’s scared of his collar. However, Igor is reportedly getting better with it every day.
Both posts contain many stark warnings to potential owners. “He’s open to dog siblings — if they share his appetite for mayhem — but may require an exorcism if introduced to a too-cheerful golden retriever,” the shelter warns.
