A man suffered ‘multiple stab wounds’ following an altercation about Pokémon cards. Authorities transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to a news release by the Colma Police Department (CPD), the incident occurred on Saturday morning at around 9:22 AM. Officers responded to an altercation that took place outside a GameStop store on Junipero Serra Boulevard.
When authorities arrived, they found a victim with “lacerations to the head and multiple stab wounds.” Police say he is in a stable condition, but was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The news release reveals that witnesses told officers there were two suspects. They fled the scene in separate vehicles: a Honda and a Toyota. Both suspects had left the area by the time the police arrived. However, the victim took pictures of their cars and license plates before they drove off and showed them to the officers.
The Honda driver was reportedly detained near Junipero Serra Boulevard while the Toyota driver was booked in Daly City. CPD has identified the suspects as 27-year-old Isaiah Calles and 49-year-old Miguel OrellanesFlores. Both men are from San Francisco.
The Altercation Started In A Line To Buy Pokémon Cards
The news release reveals that the incident started as a verbal dispute between OrellanesFlores and the victim. The suspect allegedly tried to cut in line to buy Pokémon cards. OrellanesFlores then reportedly hit the victim on the back of the head with a glass mason jar. At some point, the glass shattered, and Calles grabbed a broken shard. He then allegedly stabbed the victim with it multiple times.
