Jason Momoa was among many celebrating Black Sabbath’s final show in the aptly named “Back to the Beginning” gig over the weekend. The Aquaman star was spotted joining the mosh pit in a now-viral video on social media.
Ozzy Ozborne, aka the Prince of Darkness, was the headline act with his band, Black Sabbath. They performed at Villa Park in Birmingham, which is a particularly special venue as Ozzy grew up in the area. Black Sabbath was supported by many legendary rock bands, including Metallica and Guns N’ Roses. The event was a phenomenal celebration. It was also an emotional one, as it was Ozzy’s final performance. Who knows if we will ever see a lineup of that magnitude again?
During the gig, Pantera took to the stage for a four-song set. They performed two of their hits, ‘Cowboys from Hell’ and ‘Walk,’ alongside two Black Sabbath covers, ‘Planet Caravan’ and’ Electric Funeral.’
Momoa’s Appearance At The Gig Went Viral On Social Media
While Pantera was rocking on stage, the Game of Thrones actor was spotted entering the crowd from the front and joining the mosh pit. @lisajaynepartington1 shared footage from the stalls on TikTok, which quickly amassed over 1 million views.
Momoa appears to come from the stage wearing an all black-ensemble to suit the occasion. He walks into the crowd and doesn’t stop jumping until the song is over. Many fans were thrilled and surprised to see the Fast and Furious star in the pit.
One user replied, “Are you telling me I was breathing the same oxygen as JASON MAMOA?????? 😭” Another joked, “We got Jason Momoa in the pit before GTA6.” Many commenters make it obvious they’ve never been in a mosh pit before. One popular comment reads, “I can’t even cope, how do they do this?”
One commenter believes mosh pits are dangerous, saying, “although he wanted fun, kinda dangerous for crowd pushing people getting squashed.” However, many concert goers point out they are pretty normal in rock gigs, and people typically look out for each other. Others praised the actor for diving in with the crowd, with one poster saying, “He just wanted to have a moment as a regular fan. Good for him!”
