Bruce Willis is an iconic movie star responsible for some of the most beloved films in the action genre. Many adore him as John McClane in Die Hard. For me, he will always be Korben Dallas from The Fifth Element. Bruce’s daughter Tallulah recently posted pictures of her father on social media, which drew unexpected backlash.
Tallulah Willis shared a collection of images on Instagram over the weekend. She captioned the post, “Sunday funday at Grams ! Grateful.” The pictures showcase heartwarming scenes from a family gathering, and many commenters have appreciated the post.
One comment with hundreds of likes reads, “I love when you post photos making memories with your dad. I was my mother’s caregiver and she passed way in April from dementia and I cherish the memories I made with her, during hospice, forever ❤️.” Some share similar sentiments, while others thank Tallulah for making the effort to post. Another popular comment says, “Thanks for sharing Bruce with us. It’s good to see his smile and yours as well.”
However, some comments are not so kind, suggesting she keep her father’s condition private. One comment says, “I don’t think you should expose your dad to the public! He is vulnerable ! And some things should be kept private! You don’t have his permission to post it!” Another reads, “Wow ,,just curious if your dad would want his battle with dementia publicized and immortalized on IG for the world to see.”
Tallulah Responds To Criticism About Her Post
The vast majority of replies to Tallulah’s post are positive. Still, she decided to respond to one comment directly, saying, “Hi. I hear that. As a family we use our discretion when posting. Today was a great day filled with smiles. I made the judgement call to show that to the world, because I know what he means to everyone.”
Many other Instagram users have leaped to her defense. One says, “This is a loving picture. There should be no criticism of her posting this picture. Bruce and his daughter are raising awareness so this can be cured someday.” Another poster chimed in, writing, “This is a family of pure love! Unless anyone personally has taken care of a loved one in this kind of condition, you are in no way able to make judgement on someone else!”
Per the Daily Mail, Bruce stepped away from the public eye in 2022 following a diagnosis of diagnosis of frontotemporal aphasia. His family announced he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia the following year.
