Cobra Kai is an entertainment phenomenon, with many actors from the Karate Kid movies reprising their roles decades later. However, one actor is accused of biting a co-worker at a convention. Police captured a heated exchange between the two on body cam.
Martin Kove, who plays John Creese in Cobra Kai, reportedly bit Alicia Hannah-Kim at the Washington State fan convention over the weekend, per the New York Post. Hannah-Kim plays Kim Da-Eun in the series. The outlet alleges that Hannah-Kim told security that Kove bit down on her arm. When she called out, he allegedly “began kissing” the area.
A report by People explains that the incident happened on Sunday when Hannah-Kim tapped Kove on the shoulder to greet him. A police report obtained by the outlet allegedly states an on-site officer saw “a very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising.” Kove reportedly admitted to biting his co-worker, although he insisted he was playing as they play fight on set regularly.
The Cobra Kai Actress Decided Not To Press Charges
Ultimately, the decision to press the matter further rested with Hannah-Kim, who decided not to press charges. However, she and her partner allegedly requested an official report “in case this continues.”
NBC News shared bodycam footage of an officer speaking with Kove and Hannah-Kim. The officer reiterates that it’s entirely up to the actress if she would like to press charges. She snaps at her co-worker, “That is assault.”
The officer says to Kove, “I’d like to understand why you did that.” Kove replies, “I’m really, I apologize. I was just playing because we’re very playful together, and I bit down too hard.” The officer stops Kove mid-sentence, explaining, “She’s got a mouth mark on her.”
Hannah-Kim jumps in, telling her co-worker, “No, we do not play like that. And right now, Martin, I am really pissed. You have left a mark on my body, which, in your 80-year-old brain, you think is play.” She then asks him, “Sir, were you raised in a ditch?!”
The report by People explains that authorities escorted Kove and his son from the convention following the incident.
