The 22-year-old woman took to Reddit to see if her actions were justified or if she overreacted. She explains that she just got kicked out of the house she has lived in for years. Her father’s wife, who the woman makes clear is not her mom, allegedly said, “You don’t help us, you don’t live here.” The poster explains that she lives with them and works full-time. She also pays for herself, including gas and food.
However, the woman reveals that her husband’s wife is addicted to gambling online. She alleges that her stepmother spends most of the day clicking on reels, hoping for a payout. She adds that she’s never won anything and says that a chunk of her father’s money is also spent on the casino. The poster says that when her father’s money dries up, her stepmother asks if she’s “pitched in.” She also alleges that her father knows what’s going on but won’t take any action.
The young woman reveals that she is tired of the situation at home and has saved money in secret. Unfortunately, her stepmother allegedly found an ATM receipt of the savings and was furious, accusing her of “hoarding money.”

The woman points out that she’s offered to help with groceries and bailed them out before but wonders if she should have just stayed to keep the peace and chipped in.
