A wedding is one of, if not the biggest day in many couples’ lives. There are many moving parts, and everyone involved hopes for no drama. Before the big day, many couples have bachelor or bachelorette parties, and one group of friends made sure it was an event the bride-to-be would never forget.
According to a report by People, Lucy Edgerley had her hen do at the end of May in Surrey, UK. A ‘hen do’ is the British equivalent of a bachelorette party, while the bachelor party is usually called a ‘stag do.’
It’s unclear if there were any surprises at the stag, but they likely wouldn’t top what Lucy’s friends had in mind. Edgerley is known for her hairstyle, and her friend, Tiah Slattery, had a unique idea to make the day special. She logged onto AliExpress and ordered dozens of blonde bob-styled wigs closely matching Lucy’s.
Edgerly told People, “We wanted to find a fun way to make the hen feel really personal to Lucy, and what’s more iconic than her signature blonde bob?” She added, “Her hair is so synonymous with her personality, and since we didn’t plan any typical hen games or gimmicks, this felt like a funny and unexpected way to bring some extra joy to the day.”
Lucy’s Friends Hen Do Surprise Went Viral
Slattery shared the hen do stunt on her TikTok page @tiahslattery. The video quickly went viral and has amassed over 8 million views.
The short 12-second clip shows Edgerley walking toward her friends. She gets halfway across the grass outside before noticing at least a dozen people staring at her with matching hairstyles. The video is hilarious because it seems to take the bride-to-be a few moments to recognize her guests. She quickly bursts out laughing when she realizes what is happening.
The comments section is full of light-hearted jokes. Pointing out her brief pause, one user writes, “Slightly offended π³π³π³ to πππ.” Another jokes, “Waitβ¦ is this play about me.” One reply with hundreds of likes says, “She thought she had the wrong party and then you can see the realization load.”
Slattery told People, “The next morning, we were still laughing seeing where all the wigs had ended up around the house. It made for such brilliant memories.”
