The Disney World parks are among the most popular theme parks in the world, striking a balance between family fun and entertaining thrill seekers. Kids can even opt to have their hair styled, and one keen-eyed mom spotted a subtle and delicate way stylists at the park check for lice.
Children can visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the Magic Kingdom in Disney World to have their hair prepped, princess-style. One mom recorded an expert at work and posted it on social media once she realized what they were doing.
She posted the footage on her TikTok channel, @lovethelarkins. The video was posted back in March but has since gone viral, with a whopping 54 million views. It has the caption, “I didn’t even realize what they were doing until I rewatched the video. Literally making every moment magical even while checking for lice at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.”
The clip shows the Fairy Godmother rapidly demoing a few different hairstyles. A few make zero sense for a princess, such as holding the hair “all the way to the top,” as the Disney worker demonstrates. If you watch closely, you can see them thoroughly inspecting the youngster’s hair from multiple angles, and it’s impressive how they make something quite clinical a seamless part of the princess experience.
Viewers Are Impressed By The Disney Worker’s Skills
The comment section is filled with replies from impressed viewers. There are also plenty of jokes about what might happen should they find any lice. One comment with over 700,000 likes by @Pinaynae reads, “That’s a sweet and creative way to disguise it.”
Another user claims to have worked at Disney World and shared some insights into their protocols. “We would make sure they didn’t have any “pumba” in their hair. If they did, we’d tell the parents and do everything else except their hairstyles,” they explain. Another, who claims they are a hair stylist, says, “Me as a hairstylist playing with everyone’s hair to check for lice before we start anything.”
Many of the Disney-themed joke comments are gold, but my favorite is by @Jeckado23_. They quip, “and if they DID find lice it’s like “bippidi bobbidy- back out the front door!”
