It’s easy to become a ‘doom and gloomer’ when you surf social media, and sometimes it seems like certain posts exist to make you miserable. Still, if a video about a golden retriever teaching a baby to crawl can’t cheer you up, nothing will!
ABC7LA posted the heartwarming footage onto TikTok with the caption, “One very special golden retriever named Ashe took on the role of teacher. Gently showing baby Griffin how to crawl in a precious video.”
The video appears to show precisely what the caption says. Ashe leans down to copy the baby’s position on the carpet and waits for them to do something. The youngster flounders around a bit next to the dog before looking at them. After that, Ashe licks Griffin’s face as if to say, “At least you tried.”

The social media crowd is tough to please, but it seems like everyone enjoys the heartwarming interaction between Ashe and Griffin. There are hundreds of positive comments on the short video, many noting how gentle and patient Ashe is. @alexaqrcampbell says, “Aww, Ashe is such a gentle teacher, Griffin is lucky to have such a patient friend!” Another user jokes, “licks of encouragement and “good job kid.”
Many also point out that intelligence is a trait of Golden Retrievers. @pattigeorgeson writes, “That is absolutely precious footage! ❤️🦮 The Golden Retriever is the smartest, kindest, gentlest, and most helpful dog of all breeds!” Another sharing similar sentiments is by @grammytami57, who says, “There is no doubt the golden retriever is the best dog for a family.” @neo1874 declares the video “the best video I have ever seen on TT.”
Another baby video did the rounds on TikTok a couple of weeks ago, although it got attention for the wrong reasons. Haley Orrock runs the @bonesandbuilds channel, which specializes in DIY and family interactions. However, she recently posted a clip of her husband pushing a lawnmower around the garden with their young son riding on top.
Commenters were quick to point out the danger, and the backlash was swift. Orrock ultimately deleted the video and re-uploaded it as a cautionary post.
