Rod Stewart is a beloved singer and songwriter with an iconic voice. His career has spanned over 50 years, earning him fans from multiple generations. Tickets to his concerts are hard to come by, which makes an upcoming list of cancellations hard to swallow.
According to the New York Post, the legendary rock star’s ‘One Last Time’ tour is in full swing. Stewart’s shows kicked off on March 7 in Texas, although the tour has already seen several cancellations and alterations. Naturally, fans are upset, and Stewart says that he is “devastated.”
The ‘Maggie May’ singer took to Instagram to announce several upcoming cancellations and reshuffles owing to the flu. He wrote, “I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I recover from the flu. So sorry my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon. Sir Rod.
Stewart’s post also outlines several upcoming concerts, which are now canceled. One at the Colosseum Theater, at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, on June 10, and another at the Lake Tahoe Amphitheater on June 14. Two performances in June are also postponed until September.
Fans Wish Rod Stewart Well Despite The Cancellations
The comments section for Stewart’s post unanimously wishes the rock star a speedy recovery, even though some are clearly disappointed. One user writes, “Feel better soon but 2 canceled concerts in Vegas within one year kind of hurts. It’s too expensive for flights & rooms for a third time, sadly. I’ll always remember the 4 times I did get to see you forever, though.” Another wishes him Stewart well, although they didn’t appreciate the short notice on the cancellations.
Per the New York Post, Stewart has had a turbulent time on the ‘One Last Time’ tour so far. He reportedly missed his show on June 1 in Las Vegas, and fans only got the memo four hours prior. The singer was also forced to cancel his show on June 5. He reportedly said, “My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding.”
