I was like, I don’t know, but I know it has.” Thurston puts on a brave face and says, “But yeah. Cancer is ****. Sometimes I’m like, stop feeling bad for yourself, but then other times I’m like, no, you’re allowed to feel bad for yourself. Cancer ******* sucks.”
Katie Thurston Reveals Details About Her Treatment
She also explains that doctors have given her important decisions to make. “Right now, I’m in the process of my treatment where I have to make big decisions on how to treat my liver. Radiation, Ablation, Histotripsy, which is the one I’m going to go for. Per Hopkins Medicine, Histotripsy is ‘an interventional radiology procedure that uses focused ultrasound waves to treat liver tumors, both cancerous and benign.’ The treatment also requires no cuts into the body.
Thurston posted her update on Sunday, and she acknowledged the importance of the date. “It’s National Cancer Survivors Day. And you know every day I’m alive, I’m a survivor, so go me, I guess.”
