You ever hear some beauty horror stories that just make you squirm? Well, add this one to your list.
According to PopSugar, a client went into Fara Beauty Salon in Thailand looking to get their eyelash extensions removed…because they had been SUPERGLUED to her eyelids, sealing them shut! Now, I don’t know about you, but this sounds absolutely excruciating.
In the video posted below, you can see the technician removing the glue and lashes with an oil. By the end of it, the client was left with inflamed eyes and barely any lashes left. Definitely not what you expect when you go in to get your lashes done!
If it isn’t already obvious, superglue and eyelash extensions should never be mixed. According to Clementina Richardson, celebrity lash expert and founder of Envious Lashes, medical-grade adhesive is your best bet, even though it’s not something you can pick up at the drugstore or beauty supply store.
“Some adhesives dry clumpy and are visible, those are ones to avoid. Do not use crazy glue, hair glue, or any other glue, that is a big no-no,” she said.
No matter what kind of procedure you’re getting done, safety should always be your number one priority. So, next time you decide to get lash extensions, do your homework and find out the reputations of salons before you go.
