Popping the question can be an exciting yet nervous time for people. Men often get creative with marriage proposals with crazy flash mobs, candlelit dinners, and even adventurous scavenger hunts. But, this guy set the bar high for all other proposal with humorous ways we haven’t seen before. He went with a risky approach and it paid off completely.

Self-proclaimed spontaneous improviser Edi Okoro devised a plan to propose to his soon to be fiancé, Cally, during a typical romantic evening, but with each event not seeming right, he quickly changed his plans. After almost being caught with the ring, Okoro thought of an idea that tops all the others.

He decided he would parade the ring around his girlfriend while taking a series of photographs without her noticing. Okoro stated on Facebook, “The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!”

Whether Cally was sleeping in bed or out on a bike ride, Edi slipped the ring out whenever he could. However, not all of Edi’s attempts went smoothly. There were a few instances where he was almost caught in the act. Edi recalled in an interview one of those closest calls, “The binoculars. Only because she could have just looked up! Also, walking around with it in my pocket I knocked into her a few times, but she didn’t notice it was a box.”

This process went on for about a month until Edi finally popped the question.

Although we have not seen the full proposal, Edi documented the entire month long photo-taking process on his Facebook. With a photo series of 23 photos and two videos, Edi successfully documented his adventurous proposal. “This engagement turned out more than what I originally intended it to be, I’m just happy that I don’t have to walk around with the ring anymore and keep it a secret,” he concluded in an interview.

Edi Okoro told Facebook, “So we did end up getting engaged, and no I didn’t get caught …..but how I did it is a story for another time! Stay tuned!” This couple’s humorous proposal story soon vent viral on various social media platforms. The couple then created a separate Facebook page for their story and gained thousands of followers.

We look forward to seeing how the proposal itself actually panned out and wish them a happy marriage!
