It's been four years since teens broke the internet by plumping their lips to horrifying extremes via the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge. And yet, it still seems as if Gen Z is STILL obsessed with making their lips look fuller without having lip fillers or injections.
Now, a viral new trend called the Lip Glue Challenge is making it round on the internet, specifically on the video platform TikTok. As the name suggests, to complete the challenge, participants must glue their lips to their face so they appear fuller. As shown in the video below, most people who participated did so by applying a small amount of eyelash glue above their upper lip and then folded their upper lip back to stick to the glue.
After the glue is applied and dried, most people applied lipstick to give the illusion that their lips are naturally shaped this way.
Most of the people who participated in the challenge were smart enough to use eyelash glue instead of super glue or nail glue. This challenge may be silly and ridiculous, but at least they're using a nontoxic glue that is safe to use on the skin.
Though gluing your lips is obviously way cheaper than getting lip fillers, it's still glue and can leave your mouth feel sticky or weird. Plus, I can't imagine the glue actually sticking for that long because your mouth is constantly moving, but hey, to each their own I guess. The beauty hacks people come up with will never cease to amaze me.
