Throwback to the 80s this summer as Nike teams with Netflix to release a ‘Stranger Things’-inspired collection on June 27!
The activewear retailer made the big announcement on their news site, reminding older fans of the significance of the year 1985 — the year the sci-fi thriller takes place and the era of slick new Nike creations like the Air and Dunk. To commemorate this, the collection brings back classic Cortez, Blazer, and Tailwind styles in Hawkins High school colors.
It’s no surprise Nike decided to collaborate with the Netflix original series. Small-town Hawkins, Indiana just oozes with nostalgia for 80s fashion, and, if you look closely, you can spot the iconic swoosh logo on the characters’ shoes in multiple scenes. Who knew Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven would be so on trend?
But wait, there’s more!
To jazz up your sweet sneaks, Nike has thrown in matching sweat suits and t-shirts that look like you bought them straight from Hawkins High itself. The retailer also plans on dropping a duplicate line of shoes on July 1, but in patriotic colors, so you can prepare for the debut of Season 3 three days later in style.
So brace yourselves, 80s and sci-fi fans, because these hot new kicks will knock your socks off and turn your worlds upside-down!
