Joanna Gaines and her husband Chip opened their first retail store, Magnolia Market, at 3801 Bosque Blvd in Waco Texas, in 2003. The opening of their store marked the beginning of their Magnolia brand, which includes Magnolia Homes, the company that remodels homes in the hit reality TV show, Fixer Uppers. With the Gaines family saying goodbye to their show after five seasons, the reopening of their Magnolia Market as a warehouse store is the perfect move to keep the momentum rolling for their brand.
The original Magnolia Market will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, with the grand opening on Thursday, March 22nd. The store was originally shut down for the Gaines to focus on their family, but as Joanna Gaines described on her website: “Something began tugging at my heart and I began feeling a pull towards reopening Magnolia Market.”
The store’s warehouse-vibe means it will focus on slightly damaged goods and last-chance items for a notably discounted price. An old store selling old gear! The reopening of the Magnolia Market is not to be confused with the Magnolia Market at the Silos, a different location in Waco, Texas, that offers different products.
Chip and Joanna Gaines aren’t stopping there, either. HGTV announced a spin-off show titled Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, which will have Joanna sharing details, strategies, and insights that went into the home-redecorating of the main series. It’ll be a wonderful treat for the hardcore fans and more wonderful success for the Gaines family.
With the old store reopening in a new way and a spin-off to their hit TV show on the way, there’s no telling how much more the Magnolia brand will continue to grow. Aspiring entrepreneurs, take out your notepads because this is how it’s done!
