What’s Kylie Jenner’s Baby’s Name? Here’s The Theory

By Jessica Goddard

Disney | ABC Television Group

It can't all be a coincidence!

On Super Bowl Sunday Kylie Jenner broke the internet when she announced what many had speculated for months – the 20-year-old had been secretly hiding a pregnancy and had given birth to her first child on February 1st. The reality TV star released an 11-minute video titled “To Our Daughter”, chronicling her pregnancy and including ultrasounds, a growing baby bump, and cameos of Kylie’s famous family. The presumed father of the baby, rapper Travis Scott, is shown every step of the way, including in the delivery room.

As of yet, there’s been no official reveal as to the name of the baby girl, but there is a running theory. For starters, Kylie’s mother Kris, who plays a significant role in the video as well, posted on Instagram that Kylie’s famous makeup line would be launching a new limited edition lip shade called “Posie K” on February 5th. “Posie” could turn out to be a nickname or short version of “Mariposa”, the Spanish word for Butterfly. But wait! That’s not all.

In the pregnancy announcement video, Jenner is seen wearing a blue and white butterfly necklace, that the camera zooms in on, perhaps for emphasis. Jenner is also seen moving her hand over the necklace and pressing it close to her body a second later, as if the necklace holds special significance in some way.

It could also be a clue that back in November, Jenner posted a photo wearing sparkling butterfly rings. And the butterfly imagery doesn’t end there.

Another potential hint that’s driving fans crazy is that the video seems to show early decorations for the baby’s bedroom, highlighting a wall covered in butterfly designs.

Then throw in the fact that Travis Scott’s song “Butterfly Effect” has been theorized to be about how Jenner and Scott first met.

The icing on the cake is that it turns out Jenner and Scott even have matching butterfly tattoos!

Of course we won’t know for sure until the name is officially confirmed, but for the time being, it definitely looks like the clues are adding up!
