Potterheads, get excited because there is now a Harry Potter-themed river cruise that vastly outshines the ship to Durmstrang. The Harry Potter Magic Cruise runs August 5-11 and August 19-25 and the rate starts at $4,190 per person, with a maximum of eight guests. On the cruise, patrons are taken to the filming location for 4 Privet Drive and Virginia Water, the backdrop for the scene when Harry first meets the hippogriff Buckbeak in The Prisoner of Azkaban.
The boat also visits sources of the filmmakers’ inspiration for bringing the Wizarding World to life, such as Oxford’s Christ Church College, which served as the foundation for Hogwarts’ Great Hall. There is also a stop at Warner Bros. Studios, where you can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into production and see real props, sets, and costumes used in the films.
“The itinerary is my baby and it has been a professional highlight to see it come to fruition,” Stephanie Sak, founder of the cruise company The Barge Ladies, told Good Morning America.
On top of site-seeing, the passengers will also be served meals and delve into English culture by enjoying afternoon tea aboard the boat.
So, does anyone know a spell for conjuring up galleons?
