These insanely beautiful barbies look so accurate to the celebrities they are supposed to portray!
When you were younger, did you ever go to the store and see the celebrity look-alike dolls and think, ‘Eh…they don’t really look like them…’?
Well, one guy has come up with his own design method to ensure that your favorite celebrity does have a doll replica of them that is on point!
The man behind the genius designs and the artwork is Rafinha Silva, who is from Brazil. This guy actually reupholsters already created Barbie dolls and transforms them into newly designed dolls, under the brand name ‘The Royal Dolls’.
In an interview with Cosmo, Silva spoke out about how he got an interest in art, associated with Barbie dolls.
“Drawing women with long hair is one of my earliest childhood memories.”
So you can kind of see where his long-haired doll idea, stems from!
He also mentioned what inspired him to create the celebrities and his decision to continue on.
“My first inspiration was to create a doll with the characteristics of the singer Amy Winehouse… I loved the experience of being able to customize, and I wanted to be able to continue producing more and more pieces.”
But How Does He Create These Dolls?
Silva pulls from any type of Barbie doll and takes different pieces from different styles/themes of Barbie dolls, to configure into creating a new face and body for the doll. He makes his own ‘wigs’ for the dolls so that they have long, luscious, hair. And when it comes to the makeup, he erases the existing makeup off of the doll and paints on a fresh and new, makeup look.
His clients can actually custom-order the dolls, by giving personal specifications and Silva goes from there!
Silva will also create custom outfits for the dolls as well! Amazing!
Seriously, this guy is crazy talented! We can’t stop staring at all of his doll creations!
While some people may be considered ‘too old to play with Barbies’, these dolls would make for wonderful collector’s items!
